Talal Toukan reposted thisTalal Toukan reposted this🚨 Lean Technologies and Ziina زينة have launched what they describe as the UAE's first one-tap Pay by Bank experience under the Open Finance framework. It lets Ziina users to connect their bank account once and make future wallet top-ups with a single tap, with no need to re-enter credentials or get redirected to a bank portal each time. The feature is built on Lean's Deposits product, which carries an account-on-file consent lasting up to 12 months so customers do not re-authenticate on every payment. They were first to go live five months ago and keep pushing the frontier with us. We've been building Pay by bank in this region for over six years. Bank on File is the biggest leap in the payment experience we've delivered yet, and 2026 will be our biggest year in terms of product releases and growth. This is just the beginning. It dives into how we built our development environment to keep feedback loops fast as our team grows ⚡️Talal Toukan shared thisAt Ziina, we invest heavily in developer tooling because great developers expect great tools. You often hear engineers leave companies like Google and say, "I miss their internal tools." That's not an accident. We want our team to feel the same way - that the tools we offer our developers genuinely make their lives easier. Here was the problem: we run a complex, decoupled microservice architecture, with many infrastructure components like message brokers, databases and caches. Testing a change end-to-end means multiple services, infra dependencies, seeded data, and realistic integrations. Doing that locally is painful. Doing it via staging means going through the full deployment lifecycle every time. That significantly slows down feedback loops for the team. When we looked for solutions on the market we didn't find any, at least not in a way that fit our workflow. So we set out to build our own. Talal Toukan reposted thisTalal Toukan reposted thisThis week, Ken Rudin, our Growth Advisor, spent time with the team at Ziina HQ — joining working sessions and a fireside chat with our Co-founder & Head of Engineering, Talal Toukan, on what product growth looks like at scale. Ken has been at the center of Growth and Analytics in the tech industry for over two decades. He joined Salesforce as employee #18 and SVP of Product & Engineering, established the Analytics function at Facebook, built the Growth function at Google, and founded two companies. Few people have had a front-row seat to how the world’s most iconic tech companies actually grew. Ken emphasized that growth is not about dashboards or vanity metrics, it’s about applying the scientific method to the business. The job isn’t just analyzing data, but asking the right questions and then turning insights into action. As he put it, “Analysis without change has no value." A theme that resonated with the team was how growth must stay user-centric. At Google, Ken had to reframe “growth” not as chasing MAUs, but as a way to ensure more users experience real product value more often. Growth, done right, is how you deliver value at scale. At Ziina, we approach growth with the same intent. For us, growth isn’t just acquisition; it’s improving onboarding, refining the core experience, and making financial tools that were once complex feel simple and human. Talal Toukan liked thisTalal Toukan liked thisJá pensou em doar um pouco do seu tempo? Em 03/07/2020, em meio à pandemia do coronavírus, de férias na praia, acordei com uma ideia na cabeça. Sonhei, com muita clareza, em criar uma estrutura para mentorar pessoas negras para o crescimento de carreira em posições de liderança. Estava tudo muito claro na minha cabeça. Eu chamaria algumas pessoas para iniciar um projeto e pediria a elas um investimento: TEMPO. As primeiras pessoas co-fundadoras doariam tempo para criar o projeto do zero. Depois, o projeto deveria conseguir incentivar as pessoas a doar 1 hora a cada duas semanas para mentorar uma pessoa negra. Essa pessoa mentorada poderia, no ciclo seguinte, mentorar outras pessoas, e assim ganharíamos escala e impactaríamos mais e mais gente com a nossa metodologia. Esse seria o nosso ciclo virtuoso. Essa ideia saiu do papel no mesmo dia. Criamos a Uuka Brasil, associação sem fins lucrativos que, em 6 anos, impactou 390 pessoas com o processo de mentoria. 208 pessoas aceitaram contribuir com um total de mais de 4.600h em mentorias. Dessas, 94 foram mentoradas e hoje também mentoram outras pessoas. O ciclo virtuoso aconteceu e está vivo, acontecendo. No nosso primeiro relatório de impacto da Uuka (link nos comentários), trazemos os impactos que a mentoria teve na vida dessas pessoas e como, em 6 anos, construímos uma comunidade com mais de 500 membros — sustentada basicamente por pessoas doando TEMPO. Ler esse relatório e ver que 94 das pessoas mentoradas hoje mentoram outras é, sinceramente, o que mais me orgulha nesses 6 anos. Muitas vezes achamos que precisamos de investimento em dinheiro para criar iniciativas, gerar impacto, gerar mudança. Mas você já parou para pensar em como pode gerar impacto através do tempo que já tem disponível? Será que teríamos um mundo melhor se cada pessoa dedicasse 1 hora da sua semana a uma outra pessoa, sem esperar nada em troca?
