Stars Foundation improves health, education and employment outcomes for First Nations girls and young women across Australia. Stars mentors and supports 4,300+ First Nations girls and young women in 80 primary and secondary schools and 1000+ Alumnae across Australia. Established in 2015, the Stars Foundation provides a holistic mentoring program that supports First Nations girls and young women to identify their goals and reach their full potential. The Stars Foundation focuses on four pillars designed to improve health and education outcomes. These include: 1. Education, Training and Employment - encourages active engagement in education and the development of positive plans for a successful transition into full time employment or further study. 2. Healthy Lifestyles - addresses healthy habits for life including nutrition, self-care and personal hygiene, sport, and fitness. 3. Wellbeing - focuses on personal wellbeing and mental health. 4. Community, Culture and Leadership - celebrates First Nations culture and encourages activity within communities which develops confidence and pride. The Stars Foundation mission is to support and enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women to make active choices towards realising their full potential in all aspects of their development and wellbeing.

We celebrated the launch of our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2026-2029 during #NAIDOCWeek on the Gadigal Lands of the Eora Nation. Hosted by Sue Houghton CEO Australia Pacific, the event brought together Adrian Appo OAM (First Australians Capital) and Andrea Goddard (Stars Foundation - Australia) for a panel discussion facilitated by Vivienne Bower GAICD, QBE Group Executive Corporate Affairs and Sustainability. We extend our gratitude to Kylie Glew for her involvement in this occasion and the talented KARI Singers for their moving performance. What does a future career in energy look like? We hosted 54 students from eight schools across Perth through our partnership with the Stars Foundation - Australia giving them the opportunity to learn more about WA's energy future and explore career pathways in the industry. Throughout the day, students took part in hands-on activities, learnt about energy efficiency and heard from members of our team and participants in our Aboriginal Traineeship Program about the different pathways that can lead to rewarding careers. The Kepa Kurl Stars students attending Esperance Senior High School in WA enjoyed celebrating NAIDOC Week within the school and wider community. Firstly, they participated in the community NAIDOC event where they proudly performed a traditional cultural dance, choregraphed by the amazing 'Cheeky' Chandler, for family and community members with confidence and pride, and also helped with creating stunning flower crowns. Students were also proudly invited to the Esperance Hospital to be part of their celebrations and ceremony. The young women then came together for the combined schools NAIDOC celebrations, where they were involved with face painting and enjoyed many other activities on offer throughout the day. The week concluded with the Esperance Senior High School celebrations which included morning tea for all Aboriginal families and students, followed by the girls performing their cultural dance in front of the entire school. Students showed incredible pride and spirit, and it was a truly outstanding performance followed by a well-deserved lunch and enjoying the festivities of the day. It was a wonderful week of celebrating culture, connections and showcasing the talents and leadership of the Kepa Kurl Stars students. #community #culture #NAIDOCWeek
