That’s exactly what XYTR helps schools achieve.Michelle O'Connor reacted on thisThis week I attended the EduTECH Australia conference in Sydney 🙂 It was great to see the innovation taking place across the education sector, particularly around AI, student engagement, cybersecurity, analytics, and digital learning platforms. One observation stood out to me: Schools have invested heavily in technology over the years. Student management systems, finance platforms, learning management systems, HR systems, wellbeing tools, CRM solutions, and countless other applications all play an important role. Yet one of the biggest challenges remains the same: How do you get all these systems working together to provide meaningful insights and efficient processes? Too often, valuable information is trapped in separate systems, requiring manual workarounds, spreadsheets, duplicate data entry, and time-consuming reporting processes. At XYTR, we believe the answer isn’t always buying another system. The opportunity is often to unlock the value already sitting within your existing technology stack. Our experience working with schools has shown that when data flows seamlessly between systems, leadership teams can spend less time gathering information and more time making informed decisions. Michelle O'Connor reacted on thisMichelle O'Connor reacted on this🌟🌟🌟 Another fantastic Case Comp Saturday 🌟🌟🌟 ⚡️ It was sensational seeing the energy of our amazing students competing in our 27 June Monash Business School Case Competition. After 3 weeks of exams and with university holidays started you would think being at university on a Saturday cracking a case is the last place our students would want to be. Not So !! Instead these students decided to spend the first day of their university holidays cracking a case and competing !! Thank you all for the energy you bring to these case competitions. It is such a joy to see the presentations and the amazing work you all do after only having 5 hours to crack the case !! 🏆 A big congratulations to the overall winners – Chi Consulting for a fantastic presentation. It has been great seeing you guys develop across various case competitions- Anushka Singh, Darren Menezes, Evangeline Wong and William Oliver. 👏 A big thank you to all the judges who generously gave up your time to assist our students. We could not run the case competition program without your help - Jacquetta Griggs FCPA, GAICD, Hannah Brant, Gim Ng, Yi Su, Saifullah Waqar, ACMA, CGMA, Dr Andrea Fenton, Anupama Sethi, Dhayani Kirubaharan, Frank Interrigi, Dr Jacqueline O'Toole, Dr Jadranka Petrovic, Kym Brown, Michaela Rankin, Nuzi Cader, Rifat Harun, PhD 👏 And it of course a huge thanks to Chris Keynes for all his work on every case comp and to all the student helpers on the day.

Those wonderful humans who you genuinely enjoy working with, and with whom you can achieve great things. Today we volunteered our time as a team at Foodbank Victoria with some wonderful people from across Costa. I am pictured with Kristy Willems our People Operations Manager and Amirah Said our HR Graduate. One of the best things about activities like this is how it flattens the hierarchy. Seniority goes out the window and you’re simply colleagues, working together side by side. Today, my cup is full.

Michelle O'Connor reacted on thisMichelle O'Connor reacted on thisTwo years ago today, I joined UNSW as Chief People Officer. Looking back, I don’t think I could have predicted just how much the role would challenge me, or how much I would learn along the way. We’ve navigated significant organisational change, heightened scrutiny, complex industrial and regulatory issues, and some genuinely difficult decisions. There have been many moments where there wasn’t an obvious right answer, but a responsibility to make the best decision with the information we had, and to keep moving forward. One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most is the privilege of working in higher education. Every improvement we make in People & Culture helps create the conditions for brilliant researchers to make discoveries, educators to shape future generations, and professional staff to do their best work. That makes our work so much more meaningful. One of the biggest lessons I’ve taken from the past two years is that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating the conditions for other people to succeed. It’s also taught me the importance of being prepared to tackle difficult problems, to say “we got this wrong” when we need to, to listen, to take accountability and to stay the course. Our work is often slow and uncomfortable, but it’s also where trust is built. To the incredible UNSW People & Culture team, thank you. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past two years, particularly because so much of the work has been about building stronger foundations for the future. Many of the most important changes take time, and while we’re not finished, we’re heading in the right direction. There is still so much opportunity ahead to simplify the way we work, strengthen capability, continue building trust, and create an environment where our people can do their best work. Two years in, I feel just as energised by the opportunity as I did on day one. I’m looking forward to what’s next.
