Congratulations to all the winners of the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards! "Did you know" that Southwestern Ontario has some regional connections to this year's winners? Highlights below:
Iris Ng - Best Photography, Documentary or Factual. “Exclusion: Beyond The Silence” was produced by Ballinran Entertainment based in Stratford, Ontario.
Jean Yoon - Best Supporting Performance, Web Program or Series, “18 to 35” was produced and filmed in London, Ontario. Co-creators Charlie Whalley and Rahul Chaturved originally won the Forest City Film Festival Project Pitch competition that helped kick off the production.
“The Girl Who Cried Pearls” - Best Animated Short is narrated by Colm Feore, who makes his home in Stratford, Ontario.
“Cows Come Home” - Best Web Program or Series, Fiction was filmed in Fort Erie, Ontario, the hometown of co-creator and lead Lindsey Middleton. Director Katie Uhlmann also took home the award for Best Direction, Web Program or Series.
A special shout-out to Hamilton, Ontario who had a great year as well, as a location and contributing talent to some of the top shows and films of the year. Hamilton Film Board
