ODSP rates were updated on July 1, 2026. If you receive the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or support someone who does, we've shared the updated maximum monthly rates in the graphic below. The annual 1.9% increase is now in effect. While any increase is welcome, many people with disabilities continue to face rising costs for housing, food, transportation, and other everyday expenses. We hope this graphic makes it easier to stay informed and understand what has changed. Keep in mind that the amount someone receives through ODSP depends on their individual circumstances and eligibility. If this information could help someone in your network, please consider sharing this post. About us
Established over 60 years ago, Bellwoods is a charitable, not-for-profit organization providing community-based, client-directed support services, independent living education programs, and accessible, affordable housing. Services are provided to adults (16+) with high physical support needs, seniors, and individuals with mental health and addiction challenges as well as those at risk of homelessness. Bellwoods has been accredited by Accreditation Canada since 2007 and in 2013 and 2018 received the highest accreditation: “Accredited with Exemplary Standing.” Bellwoods provides personal support services to people living in the community and at its supportive housing sites. It also offers a range of Transition Programs that include education and care navigation as well as a reintegration unit and an in-home respite program to support clients ready to leave hospital following an illness or a debilitating injury. Through partnership development, Bellwoods focuses on meeting the needs of clients and responds to community needs and health system priorities. Our voluntary Board of Directors represents the communities we serve.

As Pride Month comes to a close, it's a good time to reflect on what inclusion really means. Many people with disabilities are also part of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, yet those experiences aren't always recognized. Creating inclusive communities means making sure people feel welcome, respected, and free to be themselves. Pride is about more than celebration. It's about continuing to challenge barriers and building communities where everyone has the opportunity to belong. June may be ending, but the work doesn't stop here! Inclusion, accessibility, and equity should be part of every day - not just one month of the year. ❤️🏳️🌈 #PrideMonth #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion #LGBTQ2SIA #Inclusion #Belonging

Accessibility isn't only about ramps, elevators, or automatic doors. It's also about making it easier for people to find, understand, and access the supports they need. Too often, people with disabilities and their families spend valuable time trying to figure out where to go, what they're eligible for, or how to complete complex applications. An inclusive community isn't measured only by the supports that exist... it's measured by how easy those supports are to access. Let's continue working toward systems that are clear, equitable, and designed with people at the centre. #Accessibility #DisabilityInclusion #AccessibleCanada #InclusionMatters #CommunityInclusion #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveCommunities #DevelopmentalServices

🌱 "There's nothing better than fresh organic vegetables." For Blair, one of our clients, that belief has grown into an annual Bellwoods tradition. Each year, Blair leads Community Garden Day, sharing his passion for gardening and helping bring new life to our courtyard garden. This year, Bellwoods staff came together to support his vision, planting vegetables including broccoli and corn that will continue to grow throughout the summer. At Bellwoods, some of the best community initiatives begin with the ideas and interests of the people we support. Community Garden Day is a wonderful example of what can happen when those ideas are encouraged, supported, and shared with others. Thank you to Blair for his leadership and dedication to this annual tradition and to everyone who helped make this year's planting day a success. We look forward to watching the garden grow in the months ahead! 🌽🥦🌱 #CommunityLiving #ClientLeadership #CommunityInclusion #DisabilityInclusion #CommunityEngagement #UrbanGardening #TorontoNonProfit #PersonCentredSupport #InclusionMatters #AccessibleCommunities

What does independent living really mean? Many people think independent living means doing everything on your own. In reality, independence looks different for everyone. For adults living with physical disabilities, independence may mean having access to accessible housing, personal support services, community connections, and the freedom to make choices about daily life. Independent living isn't about doing everything alone. It's about having the right support, at the right time, to live with dignity, autonomy, and opportunity. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live life on their own terms. Swipe through to learn more about what independent living really means and why accessible, person-centred support matters. A strong Canada is an accessible Canada. As we recognize National AccessAbility Week 2026 (May 31–June 6), we celebrate the contributions, achievements, and leadership of people with disabilities across our communities. This year's theme, "Building a Strong, Accessible Canada," highlights the importance of creating spaces, services, and opportunities where everyone can participate fully and equitably. Here at Bellwoods, we see every day how accessibility, inclusion, and community support empower people to live independently and achieve their goals. While progress has been made, there is still important work ahead to remove barriers and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive. This week, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the communities we serve and reaffirm our commitment to building a more accessible future for all. #NAAW2026 #NationalAccessAbilityWeek #Accessibility #Inclusion #CommunityMatters

This Nursing Week, we’re shining a spotlight on the Bellwoods Clinical Resource Team (CRT) and the important role they play in supporting safe, independent living in our community. 💙 At Bellwoods, nursing extends beyond traditional clinical settings. Our CRT team provides clinical leadership, staff education, assessments, quality oversight, and ongoing guidance that help support both clients and frontline teams across the organization. We’re also grateful for the many nurses across Bellwoods who contribute to compassionate, high-quality care in different ways every day.
