A place where Fee-Only FAs can <br>exchange ideas & strategies to grow their business.<br><br>Group Link: www.linkedin.com/groups/12336837<br><br>It seems to me that Fee-Only Financial Advisors (FOFAs) should be classified as an ‘essential service’, the expertise is THAT important. <br><br>Yet we all know that advice that is based upon commissions and or company policy, can wreak havoc on the financial health of clients.<br><br>Some time ago a close family member sought advice from a commission-based FA and the decision deeply damaged the strength of his portfolio. The effects of that advice have added five years onto his retirement plans. <br><br>He is now with a Fee-Only FA and rebuilding his net-worth. This and many other stories I have encountered have made me realize how vital Fee-Only FA services are. <br><br>But there is a little more to my story. In 2001 I had reached an all-time low in my business career. My six-figure consulting and training business was collapsing. <br><br>My company had got distracted by working with our client base. We had failed to continue prospecting for new clients. <br><br>Evolution continually thins the herd and routinely takes out the ‘weak’ or ‘asleep’. We certainly were not weak, we had simply ‘nodded off’, only to awake with a bump. <br><br>It was one of the most valuable business lessons I have ever received. It could be summarized as ‘adapt or die’.<br><br>Practically all financial advise experts I have ever spoken to so far, are struggling to get the internet to ‘work’ for their business.<br><br>I spent a great deal of time and money discovering a set of strategies to generate new clients. They worked. So I started sharing my strategies. <br><br>They worked for advisors as well.
