Not a good sign for the Canadian entrepreneurial ecosystem. This brings back memories of interviewing a young Canadian founder for my doctoral research and he very much echoed the sentiment that moving his startup to the US was the best option. The only reason he maintained a presence in Canada was to access government grants. Hopefully we see this trend reverse in the years to come. It is critical that Canadian entrepreneurs see Canada as a competitive and supportive environment to start and grow their business long term.
