Mt Pelerin uses Circle Mint to scale USDC and EURC cash-ins and cashouts with fast, more predictable institutional-grade liquidity. For Mt Pelerin, that meant a strong foundation for large OTC transactions, with more reliable execution, better liquidity access, and an on/offramp experience that keeps pace with customer expectations. Mt Pelerin recently launched personal IBANs that connect directly to self-custody wallets, with Frankencoin (ZCHF) as the Swiss franc bridge. Thanks to this, you can receive bank transfers from anyone whether it be employer, insurance, tax authority and have them arrive directly as crypto in your self-custodial wallet. Pay Swiss QR-bills (rent, insurance, utilities) using stablecoins from your wallet. Send bank transfers to anyone using crypto they just see a normal CHF transfer from your name. This is a big step on integrating cryptocurrencies into the day to day life. I’ve mentioned it several times before but blockchain technology adoption will most likely go through limiting the friction of using on chain technology. When you don’t realise you’re going onchain, that’s where people adopt it. The QR-bill integration is the feature that amazes me the most. Every invoice in Switzerland uses QR-bills. Being able to pay them from a self-custodial wallet makes it actually usable for a day to day basis.

Just like you would do from a banking app, but in self-custody. And yes, using the Frankencoin Swiss franc stablecoin for that is 100% free!

Arnaud Salomon liked thisArnaud Salomon liked thisMost smart contract incident reviews stop at the code. The exploit gets named, the patch ships, and everyone moves on. But the exploit is often not where the problem actually began. I’ve started calling this “cause blindness” for lack of a better term: the tendency to study the visible trigger while barely examining the conditions that allowed it in the first place. An access control assumption nobody rechecked after an upgrade. A configuration that quietly drifted from what was originally approved. It’s also why a single audit often reassures more than it should. The code that was reviewed is not always the code running several upgrades later. I’ll be at the Crypto Valley Conference with Dedge Security. If you deal with these questions inside an institution, I’d genuinely be interested to hear how you think about them.

Arnaud Salomon liked thisArnaud Salomon liked thisOne month before returning from a year-long sabbatical around the world, I keep seeing the same prediction everytime I look at my linkedin feed: AI will change everything. AI will replace jobs. AI will redefine humanity. And maybe it will. But after spending months across South America, Polynesia, Australia and Asia, what struck me most is how much of humanity still happens far away from algorithms and debates between self-proclamed tech gurus. Fishermen still go out before sunrise in Indonesia. Street cooks still feed families eating on small stools in the streets of Hanoi. Hotel owners still struggle to welcome tired travelers with dignity. Parents still work to give their children a better future. People still laugh, argue, cooperate, build, survive, dream. Yes, the world is more connected than ever. 5G and Starlink reach remote places. Translation apps remove language barriers. Digital payments and booking platforms definitely make travel easier than 20 years ago. But AI is still mostly absent from daily life for billions of people. And maybe that says something important. What I’ve seen across cultures is not a world becoming uniform or fully automated. Quite the opposite. Unique identities continue to thrive: traditions, crafts, music, beliefs, ways of cooking, speaking, welcoming, creating beauty in ordinary tasks. Some of these things may one day be automated. But automation will never fully reproduce the subtle beauty of human ingenuity, emotion and connection. The world will absolutely be impacted by AI. Deeply. But perhaps not exactly in the way many “AI gurus” imagine. Because after all the technology, what remains irreplaceable is still profoundly human: smiling at strangers, laughing with friends, sharing meals, telling stories, creating art based on millenary traditions, marveling at the beauty of our constantly changing world. The world keeps turning. Go see it. Meet people. Stay curious.
