New and existing investors participated in the round, including Dragoneer Investment Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Disruptive, ICONIQ, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, JPMorganChase, CPP Investments | Investissements RPC, General Catalyst, Plural, and StepStone Group. Investor demand significantly exceeded the available allocation, reflecting strong and growing confidence in AI-driven and software-defined defence technology. The company remains predominantly European-owned, underscoring its deep roots in Europe. The Board of Helsing remains unchanged with Co-Chairmen Daniel Ek and Tom Enders, and members Jeannette zu Fürstenberg and Denis Mercier, alongside the company's founders. This latest investment will accelerate Helsing's mission to develop and integrate entirely new AI platforms into the defence capabilities of its growing number of partner nations. Helsing's existing investors include Prima Materia, Accel, and Greenoaks.

When Adriana Najera came to me with the idea, I was like: let's make this happen. Voliro was introducing their new Smart Batteries and the concept was clear from day one. These batteries swap so fast it feels like an F1 pit stop. Back in the air in under 20 seconds. It was one of those projects that needed to be delivered fast. So Adri and I went out with one camera, one light bounce, and the amazing talent of João Balola and David Stoimenovski, and we came back with a piece I'm really happy about. On a company with no product, no revenue, and a technology most investors still associate with "always 30 years away." 😱 That company was Proxima Fusion. Today they closed a €411M Series A2 at a €2.4bn valuation — the best-funded #fusion company in Europe, and the best-funded #stellarator technology anywhere. Google joined as a strategic investor. Its first fusion bet in Europe, after already backing Commonwealth Fusion Systems in the US. Three years. €650M raised. 200 scientists and engineers pulled from IPP, MIT, SpaceX, and Tesla. A Max Planck spin-out now building Alpha, a net-energy stellarator near Munich, with Bavaria, RWE, and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics as partners. Stellaris — a commercial plant on a former nuclear site — is next. This isn't a funding round. It's a bet on where the first commercial fusion plant gets built, and where the industrial value that follows gets anchored. The US and China treat that question as a national priority. For the first time, Europe has a genuine contender. We backed Francesco Sciortino, Lucio Milanese, Jorrit Lion, Jonathan Schilling, and Martin Kubie before any of this was obvious, because Harald Nieder and Gianni Hodel believed the stellarator approach was the right bet before it was the consensus one. If this works, it doesn't just decarbonize a grid. It builds an industrial base, a talent pool, and an export economy around a technology Europe currently imports. What would it take for Europe to back five more shots like this one?
