NavVis Summer Week brought colleagues from across our global organization to Munich to share ideas, strengthen connections, and spend time with people we usually see through a screen. We closed the week yesterday evening at the Löwenbräukeller, and before the party got underway, we took time to recognize teammates whose work and contributions have had a particularly large impact across NavVis. Our home is in Munich, but NavVis is built by people around the world. NavVis Summer Week is one of the opportunities we have to bring more of that world together in one place. Their conversation covered how teams use scan data early in projects, why reliable data matters before design, manufacturing, and installation, and how better access to spatial data supports informed planning, construction, and site management. During the talk, a practical question for the future of reality capture was raised: How much of the built environment really needs to be modelled, and where can the point cloud itself provide enough context?
