After long and hard work our Double Quarter Wave (DQW) SRF cavity has been integrated into the cryomodule together with the cavity produced at CERN. This cryomodule is now being prepared for final cold tests at CERN. We can’t wait to see results from the test and then the installation as part of the amazing HiLumi Project upgrade of CERN.
🦀First DQW crab cavity cryomodule at CERN, as fabrication progresses across the collaboration 🦀 The first Double Quarter Wave (DQW) cryomodule has arrived at CERN and engineers are working hard to prepare it for final cold tests and ready it for the next stages ahead of installation. One of the cavities inside the cryomodule was manufactured by Research Instruments, while the other was produced by CERN. This comes whilst production of both RF Dipole (RFD) and DQW crab cavities progresses steadily in the collaborations and at CERN, and after the final beam tests have been concluded on the RFD cryomodule in the SPS.
