You cannot build a successful innovation ecosystem behind closed doors. 🚪 I just read an excellent guide on innovation ecosystems written by Stefan F. Dieffenbacher, the founder of Digital Leadership AG . They highlighted a concept that I completely agree with. The true cornerstone of a successful ecosystem is openness and interdependence of actors. It requires transparent communication, shared knowledge, and mutual learning among all actors. In the past, regions tried to innovate in silos. Universities, startups, and corporations kept their data hidden in private spreadsheets or closed networks. That is the old way. The new way is building accessible digital spaces where knowledge actually flows freely. We see this co-evolution happening right now with our partners: 👉 Saxony Trade & Invest Corp. launched wisawi. They created a transparent digital space where companies, researchers, and public agencies actively meet and move ideas into real projects. 👉 Niedersachsen.next Startup built innomatch. OpenAI hired the Austrian founder of OpenClaw, 🦄 Peter Steinberger. Congratulations! What impressed me, is his interview today at Zeit im Bild, Austrians primary evening news show: Clear, grounded, no hype: Current LLMs still predict the next word, and behind every “agent” there’s always a human with goals (no intrinsic wishes of the machine). He also focused on how those agents might help people - especially in office work - reducing repetitive tasks, more like automation rather than autonomy. At least for now, with the current models. Amid all the hype, this is a refreshingly realistic and responsible perspective on where AI truly stands today. A bit sad is that, once again, a European founder quickly moved to US big tech.

AI in Business – It’s not a buzzword anymore. It’s reality. At this year’s AI SUMMIT Kitzbühel, I had the pleasure of joining Maria Zesch (Austrian Post International Deutschland GmbH), Florian Deter (Microsoft), and Dr. Sebastian Walter (Otto Group) to explore one essential question: How is #AI already transforming business – and how do we apply it responsibly and strategically? 📊 Here are a few highlights that stood out to me: Microsoft is leveraging #Copilot to streamline support and sales - with measurable impact: 8% higher revenue and 23% faster deal closures. Austrian Post is using AI for demand #forecasting, delivery planning, onboarding, and even launching new business models like automated healthcare billing. Otto Group is integrating #GenAI across the entire value chain - with more than 70 use cases live or in progress. Impressive scale. At the Stellenberg Group, we apply AI across sectors: from #predictiveAI in e-commerce and multilingual staff training with AI avatars to using generative AI for product development, strategy testing, and marketing optimization. 🌍 What also resonated: the global differences in #adoption and #mindset. China is pushing the pace in logistics and delivery tech. The U.S. leads in innovation and risk appetite. Europe still has a real opportunity - especially in B2B and manufacturing - if we combine strategy with execution. And countries like South Africa and India are embracing AI in bold, practical ways that we can all learn from. 💡 My key takeaway: The question is no longer if, but how. AI must be strategically embedded, culturally understood, and used with purpose. And most importantly: We must bring everyone along for the journey — employees, kids, decision-makers. AI is already reshaping our world. Ever wondered how AI sees you? Well, just ask! I had a little fun today with AI image generation. I asked #Gemini to create a few versions of me. The results were interesting and entertaining. But beyond the fun, it raises important questions I bring into my teaching: • Should you upload your personal photos into AI tools? • What happens to those images once they’re uploaded? • How do we protect ourselves from deepfakes and misuse? Quick Tip: AI doesn’t “see” us, but it generates images based on patterns in its training data and how we prompt it. That means what comes out is an interpretation, not reality. And when it comes to personal images, always read the fine print because some tools may save or reuse them. As educators, creators, and leaders, we need to balance creativity with caution.
