The person will be working with some of the most innovative companies in the world, helping define how ClickHouse fits into the broader data ecosystem. I'm looking for someone with domain experience in modern data integration, technical enough to dig into connector architecture, and comfortable being the external face of the product with partners and customers. My talk is “From Postgres to ClickHouse and Back: Building a Unified OLTP + OLAP Database for AI Workloads.” A lot of what I’ll talk about comes from what I’ve been seeing directly in the field: teams are needing OLAP much earlier in the life of an application than they used to, and AI workloads are only making that more obvious. More and more, it is not really OLTP or OLAP. It is both. Working on managed Postgres at ClickHouse, and before that building CDC for several years, I’ve had a close view into this shift. The pattern is pretty consistent: users want transactional simplicity and analytics performance without stitching together a pile of systems. I’ll be sharing what I’m seeing, why this is accelerating now, and what it takes to make a more unified stack actually work in practice. Marta Paes liked thisMarta Paes liked thisArtie supports PlanetScale as a source, streaming through Vitess VStream instead of directly reading MySQL binlogs. PlanetScale runs on Vitess, which can shard a logical database across multiple MySQL instances and reshard it as workloads change. A binlog-based CDC client would need to account for that topology. VStream provides the logical change-stream interface over it. Vitess built VStream for this kind of CDC: it can copy current table contents before streaming new changes, resume an interrupted copy, and automatically handle resharding transitions when the stream remains connected. Artie connects through VStream with a read-only PlanetScale database password. There is no binlog_format, binlog-retention, GTID, or replication-privilege configuration required. That credential supports both the initial backfill and ongoing CDC, with TLS enforced automatically. For teams on PlanetScale, this means real-time replication without direct binlog access or manually connecting to individual shards. The managed-database experience can extend cleanly into the warehouse.

A lot has happened since then, PeerDB/ClickPipes are now part of the data stacks of thousands of customers and creating value. 🙏 On an interesting note, I was recently looking back at the acquisition thesis, and a couple lines stood out: "Postgres and ClickHouse: A Match Made in Heaven. This acquisition would bridge this gap further, making it easier for developers to use Postgres and ClickHouse together." ClickPipes and Postgres CDC were first steps toward that vision and laid a great foundation. Our work on ClickHouse Managed Postgres takes it even further, making the integration truly native and a no-brainer for developers building with Postgres and ClickHouse. On a personal note, I want to thank every teammate, customer, and my family who has been part of this journey and supported me along the way. It still feels like we're just getting started. 😉 🚀

Your analytics usually run somewhere else, like a data warehouse, and getting your data there reliably has meant building and maintaining your own pipeline. Supabase Pipelines does that for you. You pick a destination in the dashboard, and we run and monitor a managed pipeline that replicates your Postgres data there in near real time. It's built on Postgres logical replication and powered by Supabase ETL. It runs an initial sync of your tables, then replicates every insert, update, delete, and truncate, and keeps your destination schema in sync as your Postgres schema changes.
