This week on Meet the Kuvists: Lennert Antson, Data Processing Pipeline Lead! Lennert recently visited the Espoo HQ from his home in Belgium 🇧🇪 After joining Kuva Space as one of our very first interns back in 2022, he went on to become a full-time member of the team. Today, Lennert is responsible for Kuva Space's data processing chain. He's busy developing the algorithms, calibration methods, and machine learning tools that ensure our hyperspectral data is accurate, reliable, and meaningful. You may notice that Lennert’s title in the video is Data Scientist. Since filming, he has been promoted to Data Processing Pipeline Lead – congratulations, Lennert! 🎉 #KuvaSpace #MeetTheKuvists

Is the era of hyperspectral as a niche tool ending? We think so! NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Earth Science Division Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition Program selected Kuva Space US as one of the eight new commercial EO data providers under its $476M contract. Beyond the immediate milestone, the decision signals where hyperspectral sits on the maturity curve, moving beyond the limited cadence and high cost that long kept it out of routine use and into the realm of operational, procurable infrastructure. This is a key leadership role at the intersection of customer needs, business priorities, and technical execution, helping transform advanced Earth observation technologies into products that deliver real-world impact. Program Manager: We're looking for an experienced program leader to oversee complex international projects and strategic initiatives, working across engineering, satellite development, AI, operations, product, finance, and commercial teams. This summer, Tommaso Canova, our Machine Learning Engineer will be taking on an incredible challenge for charity: cycling more than 1,200 km from Travemünde, Germany to Paris, France as part of Team Rynkeby Espoo. Kuva Space is proud to support the team as a Gold Sponsor as they raise funds for children with serious illnesses and their families. The journey has already been months in the making. Having previously cycled mostly casually around town, Tommaso has spent countless hours training and preparing for what will be the adventure and challenge of a lifetime.
