Today, we are happy to share that ReOrbit has signed an agreement with asset-financing specialist SLI for the purchase of two Small GEO communications satellites with a combined value of €150 million. The deal comes as governments and operators worldwide are accelerating their drive towards fully independent sovereign space infrastructures. ReOrbit's small GEO satellite, Silta, is built precisely for this demand. Through SLI’s platform, satellite operators can access advanced technology on leasing terms instead of outright purchase, supporting more capital-efficient satellite deployment. "With this contract, we continue our mission of delivering the industry’s most competitive dollar-per-gigabit-per-second pricing for sovereign small GEO communications satellites. We value SLI’s confidence in our technology and look forward to expanding partnership opportunities with sovereign operators,” said Sethu Saveda Suvanam, CEO and Founder of ReOrbit. “We see significant value in this satellite class and the operational advantages it brings to operators. ReOrbit's engineering approach enhances throughput and economics while numerous governments under budgetary pressure rush to attain a fully independent space infrastructure. The combination of ReOrbit’s technology and the low cost of entry via SLI’s finance platform can swiftly contribute to national security and long-term resilience," said Praveen Vetrivel, CEO of SLI. At the end of last year, my family and I relocated to Helsinki, Finland. We wanted a different pace of life and the best possible environment for our children. So far, it’s been an amazing move. With that transition, I stepped down from my role as Chief Strategy & Operating Officer. I’m proud of the work we did across finance, capital programmes, and enterprise strategy in a complex organisation. Since relocating, I’ve continued supporting the organisation in a consultancy capacity, focused on finance and organisational strategy. Most of my work is about clarity around capital, priorities, and execution. I’m now exploring both full-time leadership roles and consulting engagements in Finland and internationally. Our conversation underscored the critical importance of sovereign satellite capabilities in strengthening national security infrastructure, particularly in enhancing secure communications networks that are important to Finland's defence and resilience. It was an incredible #honor to serve the greatest fighting force in the history of the planet. It is remarkable to think that my 26+ years of #service in the US Army, Army National Guard, and United States Army Reserve constitute over 10% of the entire history of the U.S. Army—and equally remarkable that I have spent far more of my life in uniform than out. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served. I appreciate everything the military gave me and taught me, and above all else, I am forever humbled by the incredible privilege of leading America’s sons and daughters. o To my family and friends who supported me: Thank you. I know it was always much harder for you than it was for me. o To those I served with: It was an absolute honor and #privilege. o To those who still serve: I depend on you now. I know you will continue to serve with honor and determination. Thank you and Godspeed. o Most of all, to those who never made it home, and to those who lost their own battle: You are still with us. Our custom Protect Mode - which is low drag, passively power and attitude stable, and when things are working... communicative. But even without that, since losing contact with Clarity at the end of last year, she's been coasting through VLEO without issue - High Speed, Low Drag. We know this because of our friends at LeoLabs confirmed there's been no change in behavior since before we lost contact. The chart below exemplifies Albedo's VLEO solution and why 5 year life is not only achievable, but mandatory. When we designed Clarity - it was from a mission centric first principals view. The physics works. The system design works. VLEO provides exponential performance increases with linear cost decreases. This is where we need to go next.
