This week, AdminSheet Pro hit a milestone: 1,000+ installs in just seven days. We didn't hit this through a lucky viral post or a big ad spend. We hit it by spending years building relationships before writing a single line of code. 1. Identifying the “Orphaned” User For a decade, Ok Goldy—a free Google Sheets add-on—was the “Admin’s Secret Weapon” for bulk operations. At its height, it had 21M installs. Then, it stopped being maintained. Legacy tools like BulkyDuce tried to fill the void but eventually went dark too. Admins don’t want “shiny” features; they want routine tasks to work without a “Resource Exhausted” error. We built this because our own clients were stuck halfway through cleanups when their usual tools simply gave up. 2. The Technical Moat: Beating the “6-Minute Wall” Legacy tools died largely due to the technical debt of the Google ecosystem, such as the 6-minute execution limit in Apps Script. We built AdminSheet Pro with “Intelligent Pacing.” It pauses gracefully before the timeout, saves its spot, and resumes automatically. Massive migrations actually finish now, without an admin needing to babysit the screen. 3. That’s a non-starter for schools, mid-sized orgs, or “accidental admins.” We realised there was a massive unserved market needing a professional tool without enterprise-level pricing. 5. Sustainability over “Free-ever” “Free” isn’t a sustainable model for professional tools—they die when APIs change or developers move on. We walk a fine line: an affordable price ($39.99/year) for those who can pay, and a free credit request module for those who can’t.
