A very pregnant me collected it today. The inaugural CUBS Alumni Impact Award from Cork University Business School at UCC. The award recognises three alumni from the past decade for their leadership, entrepreneurship and impact after graduation. Recipients were selected following a nomination process and review by the school's External Advisory Board. ☘️I completed both my LLM and Masters in Business Information Systems at UCC. A great deal of what followed started there. I was due to accept the award in April, but pregnancy meant I could not attend. Professor Anthony McDonnell made sure I could still receive it in person. Anthony consistently supports the many amazing women coming through the school, as well as the student societies that contribute so much to university life. I notice that quality in people because it is rarer than it should be. UCC shaped much of what followed for me. Eurocomply (my first business) began during that period. The work that later took me to my corporate career and into AI governance can be traced back to that campus. 🎓Two master's degrees, many late nights in the library, and no real idea yet of where any of it would lead. There is something particularly meaningful about being recognised by the place where so much began, and by someone whose judgement I genuinely respect. I am very proud of this one. 💛 If someone quietly shaped your path, tag them. They may not know the effect they had.
