👀 Behind the curtain at #ParisFashionWeek ASICS SportStyle teamed up with Little Tokyo Table Tennis (LTTT) in the historic Le Marais district of the French capital. Behind the curtain was a ping pong club, where anyone can pick up a paddle, join a game, and experience the joy of movement firsthand. 🏓 LTTT began in the Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles with just a few tables and a shared love for the game. It quickly grew into a thriving community built on openness, curiosity, and connection. That same spirit now lands in Paris. The ASICS x LTTT pop-up celebrates the launch of our first-ever collaboration: a reimagined GEL-RESOLUTION 5 sneaker drawing on the ASICS tennis archive. It also reveals a shared philosophy: movement can uplift your mind. #ASICSSportStyle #MoveYourBodyMoveYourMind

Meet the Leaders // ASICS CIO & CDO Hirofumi Ohshima on switching from the IT industry to sports. Could you tell us a bit about your background? I started my career at IBM Japan and joined ASICS in mid-2023. This has been a big change for me, both in terms of my career and my roles and responsibilities. However, I’m happy to be starting this new chapter in the Kansai region, as I was born in Osaka. What led you to join ASICS? I studied biomechanics at university but chose a career in IT because it was a fast-growing global industry at the time. A few years back, I had a chance to learn about ASICS VISION 2030 from President & COO Mitsuyuki Tominaga (who was CIO & CDO at the time) and about making products and services more digital, personal, and sustainable. This encouraged me to transition from my IT background to join ASICS, inspired by its Sound Mind, Sound Body philosophy. What does Sound Mind, Sound Body mean to you? For me, this means keeping my body in good condition through running and triathlon, balancing my mind and body through meditation, and maintaining my motivation. We hear you’ve been a triathlete for 40 years? I’ve been doing triathlon races once or twice a year, and the past 20 years have mainly consisted of Ironman races. Although I’m not racing as fast as I used to, these events are achievements in themselves, as simply crossing the finish line requires managing both body and mind. This experience helps me cope better with unexpected difficulties because open water swimming, long hours of cycling, and full marathons always bring big challenges and many risks. What are your current priorities as CIO & CDO? I lead IT globally at ASICS, collaborating with highly professional teams across regions. Our scope covers ERP, digital services, supply chain, security, and a global integrated data platform. A key priority is not only managing IT but also contributing to ASICS’ business globally through our OneASICS program and accelerating our Running Ecosystem services. This is a major focus of my combined role as CIO and CDO. How has your lifestyle changed since you joined? Kobe is a wonderful place with the Rokko mountains and the ocean. I usually go for long bike rides on Saturdays and long runs on Sundays, followed by an onsen spa, which has become my weekend routine. Although many companies promote work-life balance, it often gets forgotten in day-to-day work. However, ASICS employees really do live by the Sound Mind, Sound Body philosophy. Any final message for the ASICS family? Though I am still relatively new to the company, I truly appreciate the warm support, thoughtful advice, and inclusion I have received from many colleagues across the globe. Thank you Hirofumi for your sound leadership of all things digital at ASICS. #MeetTheLeaders #SoundMindSoundBody

The Undropped Kit wins two Cannes Lions for raising awareness of an overlooked barrier to girls’ participation in sport. Our campaign was recognized with a Silver Lion in Health & Wellness, a Bronze Lion in Design, and was shortlisted for the Titanium Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. But the real achievement is helping make an overlooked issue impossible to ignore. The Undropped Kit has helped shift PE kit from a forgotten uniform issue to a participation issue, helping drive real change in UK schools and influencing policy. Thank you to Inclusive Sportswear, Tess Howard MBE OLY, our partners, and most importantly, the girls whose experiences shaped this work. The work continues. #CannesLions2026

By the 1980s, running was a global phenomenon. This is the decade ASICS used biomechanics and data to develop lighter, shock-absorbent shoes. In 1980, we launched the X-CALIBER/SKYSENSOR running shoe, the lightest model on the market at the time. Advanced biomechanics also led to the X-CALIBER GT designed to counter overpronation, the rolling of the foot while running. In 1981, we launched the SORTIE series of marathon shoes designed specifically for road races. The series continued with the ultra-lightweight SORTIE UL100 and the SORTIE EX with DUOSOLE technology. In 1986, two running shoe models, the GT-II and the FREAKS α, were the first ASICS shoes to feature a new silicone cushioning material called GEL. This would become one of the core technologies at ASICS. As technology advanced, so did ASICS. In 1981, we established a new US subsidiary in Irvine, California. In 1985, we opened a new Global HQ on Kobe Port Island in Kobe, Japan. And in 1986, we launched our first Oceania operations in Sydney. Next: the 1990s and a big development in sport science. #ASICSHistory #8DecadesofASICS

ASICS held an exhibition tennis match in the south of France — and it was full of energy! We recently took center court at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy to demonstrate our Playing Styles approach to tennis footwear. Creating tennis footwear specifically designed for an athlete's style of play is something we have been quietly doing in the background for many years. Now we’re telling the story of our Playing Styles approach, to help all players find the right shoe for them - designed around two contrasting styles: Speed and Stability. Speed represents full-court movement, rushing the net, surprising your opponent. Stability is hitting from the baseline with power, confidence, and the ability to make your opponent do most of the running. I’m on Team Speed. I still consider myself a full-court player, even if I can’t get around the court as quickly as I once did. Fortunately, I could sit this one out and let our talented guests showcase the best of both styles. In case you’re wondering, Team Speed won the match — while Team Stability won the award for loudest support. The match took place during the ASICS Tennis Summit held over four days in France. On the final day, we announced ISS Europe and our partnership with sports research center HumanFab, which has one of the world’s most advanced Connected Courts. The center, in the heart of Europe, will be used to further test and develop our products with our leading athletes. Special thanks to Mouratoglou Academy for letting us make some noise. #ASICSTennisSummit #ASICSTennis #PlayingStyles

Ekiden is a relay format from Japan, now going global. Ten runners. One “tasuki” sash. Five legs out. Five legs back. This month, the 3rd FT Nikkei UK Ekiden was contested by 17 university teams and 18 corporate and community teams. ASICS is an official partner and we entered a strong team including three guest athletes in Lucy Charles-Barclay, Koen Naert and Natasha Wilson, as well as corporate members including Executive Officer Hirofumi Ohshima. Runners follow the course of the River Thames from Windsor to Reading and back again, navigating the unique charms of the English countryside and surprising a few onlookers along the way. After 6 hours and 49 minutes, the University of Oxford edged out the University of Exeter by 5 seconds in a thrilling finish. Special mention also to Ritsumeikan University who traveled all the way from Japan. In the corporate and community field, #TeamASICS placed second behind professional services firm Marsh. This year’s UK Ekiden was the first to be held since “Ekiden” became a new entry in the Oxford English Dictionary. Running is not just an individual sport. Ekiden is a lesson for us all in the importance of teamwork and togetherness in delivering results. #ASICSRunning #UKEkiden

Speed or stability, which one are you? Introducing Playing Styles, our unique approach to tennis footwear. Building on consumer research and feedback from athletes and coaches, we’ve made it easier than ever for tennis players to find the right footwear by focusing on two Playing Styles: Speed and Stability. For Speed, there’s the SOLUTION SPEED FF 4 shoe. Designed for the all-court player, this shoe provides lightweight responsiveness for quick, multi-directional movement. For Stability, there’s the GEL-RESOLUTION X shoe. Engineered for the baseline player, this shoe supports the stable footwork needed for players to rally with confidence. Last week, we hosted the ASICS Tennis Summit at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy in the south of France, where we introduced the Playing Styles approach to global media, influencers, and key retail accounts. “At ASICS, our journey is rooted in the Japanese principle of Kaizen, which drives us to continuously refine our footwear to better support every athlete’s unique journey on the court. With this approach, we have evolved our Playing Styles to be easier to understand, guiding players to the right footwear for their game.” — Rene Zandbergen, Global Performance Research and Innovation Manager at ASICS #ASICSTennis #PlayingStyles
