Anyone who's built object detection into a camera system knows this pain: it pings you fifteen times about the same person walking past the same door, because every frame is treated as a new unknown! Voyager SDK v1.7 makes re-identification a first-class task type. ReID is what lets a system say "that's the same person the front camera saw two minutes ago" instead of starting from zero each time. It's the difference between notifications you ignore and security alerts you pay attention to. Cross-camera identity is the backbone of real smart-security, retail analytics, and access-monitoring pipelines, and it's now something you build on rather than hand-roll. There's a new 'tracking_with_classification' demo that chains detection to tracking to per-track classification, which is basically the skeleton of that pipeline ready to go.
