Internship – Getting the best out of our Brewery data

“Turning globally collected OT asset data into actionable insights is a unique challenge—one that pushes you to bridge technology, operations, and real-world impact across breweries worldwide.”

The internship

Within the global PCD (Process Control Domain) Capabilities team, multiple security products are delivered to support and improve the cybersecurity posture of HEINEKEN’s breweries worldwide. One of these key products is PCD Asset Management, which provides a centralised view of all (IT/OT) assets supporting the automation in our breweries —from servers and workstations to PLCs and HMIs. As an intern, you will work with this global dataset and contribute to improving both the quality and the value of asset data used across HEINEKEN’s operational technology landscape.

You will focus on one or both of the following areas:

  • Driving data quality improvement across Operating Companies (OpCos)
  • Analyse current challenges in how asset data is provided by our breweries worldwide
  • Design a practical user-friendly approach for improving data quality and completeness
  • Explore how asset data management can become part of day-to-day operations for automation engineers and IT staff working in OpCos
  • Propose change management strategies to increase adoption and ownership
  • Data analysis and insight generation
  • Analyse the existing asset dataset across breweries
  • Identify trends, risks, gaps, or inconsistencies in the data
  • Translate data into actionable insights to improve security and operational decision-making
  • Define potential use cases for the data (e.g. risk management, compliance, lifecycle management)

Although we have some thoughts on how to address this topic, we are really eager to hear yours. We offer you the freedom to shape your assignment and bring your own ideas.

Your new team and workplace

You will join our global team and work in a technical environment focused on OT/ICS security. We have a global and international context, we collaborate with breweries and other stakeholders worldwide. Your work will directly contribute to improving real security outcomes.
