Packaging Engineer

We are looking for a Packaging Engineer at Abbott Olst !

At Abbott, we're looking for a Packaging Engineer to join our EMEA Packaging team at our manufacturing site in Olst, the Netherlands.

In this role, you'll work on packaging solutions that support the delivery of healthcare products to patients across the world. You'll collaborate with colleagues from manufacturing, quality, procurement and engineering to develop, improve and implement packaging solutions that are reliable, efficient and sustainable.

What you'll do

As Packaging Engineer, you will :

• Develop and improve packaging materials and packaging systems for our production operations.
• Support manufacturing teams in solving packaging-related challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and contribute to projects focused on performance, quality, sustainability and cost optimization.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to implement new packaging solutions and material changes.
• Support qualification, validation and documentation activities associated with packaging changes.
• Help ensure packaging solutions meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  
  

What we're looking for

We're interested in candidates who enjoy solving technical challenges and working across functions to drive improvements.

You likely bring :

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Packaging, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Project management or project coordination experience.
• The ability to collaborate with different stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  
  

It would be a plus if you have

• Experience with packaging materials, packaging technologies or packaging equipment.
• Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food or medical devices.
• Experience with technical documentation, validation or continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

Additional Information

• This position is based on-site in Olst, The Netherlands.
• This is a 1 year contract.
• Fluent English is required.
• Dutch language skills are beneficial but not required.
• Candidates should be able to commute to Olst or be willing to relocate.
