For 10 months, we've been building our 500-tonne pilot plant. Today is huge because we're shipping a machine that grows our capacity by 50x. When we started Prefer, we set off to build manufacturing of our coffee and cocoa flavours in-house. It didn't take long to realize that too much money was going into renovation work, not developing our technology. So as we began planning for scale, we knew we had to do things differently. Instead of building our own plant, we'd find companies that already had the equipment we needed to make PreferRoast™ and PreferChoc™. Simple, right? So wrong. We looked in China, Thailand, and the other big manufacturing hubs. While all the equipment we need is abundant and available, we couldn't find those pieces under one roof. After months, we found a partner who had most of what we needed and most importantly, they'd let us bring our own equipment into their factory. Today we're shipping the first of those missing pieces. In the coming months, our capacity will be growing 50x, from 10 tonnes a year to 500, so we can fulfill the $26M in offtake MOUs we've signed. Onwards!
