Change of Group Chief Executive Officer In February, our Group CEO Robin Ng announced his intention to step down from his position, staying on at the Board’s request to ensure an orderly and seamless transition pending the appointment of his successor. Today, Robin confirmed that he will be retiring with effect from 11 August 2026. All of us at ASMPT including the ASMPT Board would like to express our sincere gratitude to Robin for his outstanding contributions, dedicated service and lasting impact on the company. Robin has served ASMPT with distinction for more than 20 years, including six years as Group CEO. Throughout his tenure, he provided steadfast leadership through challenging periods, including taking on the Group CEO role in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic and weathering the company through industry downturns, while at the same time strengthening ASMPT´s strategic foundations, advancing innovation through new product development, and modernising operating practices to better serve customers and employees. As a result, ASMPT is today in a strong position for the future. With effect from 11 August 2026 Bassel Haddad will be appointed as the ASMPT Group Chief Executive Officer. Bassel Haddad, aged 51, is a seasoned semiconductor business, product and engineering executive with more than 25 years of experience leading global organisations, driving innovation and delivering scalable technology solutions. Prior to joining ASMPT, Bassel served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Foundry Solutions and Technology Platforms at SkyWater Technology, Inc., where he was responsible for leading foundry and advanced technology services, including overall business strategy, go-to-market efforts and profit and loss accountability. Earlier, as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Packaging at SkyWater, he led the company’s advanced packaging business including technology. His deep understanding of semiconductor design, product strategy, manufacturing and operations positions him to accelerate ASMPT growth and innovation agenda at a pivotal moment for both the company and the semiconductor industry. In June, ASMPT had the opportunity to meet customers and partners across the globe, with each event highlighting a different facet of how technology and collaboration are reshaping our industry. At PCIM Europe, the key question was not “what is possible?” but “what is manufacturable at scale?”. Together with visitors at our booth, we discussed how solutions such as MEGA, Power Vector, SilverSAM PRO and ALSI Laser1206 help address hidden failure mechanisms, process stability and power‑density scaling, ensuring that performance in smart mobility and power electronics is matched by robust, repeatable production processes. At Silicon Saxony Days, the Sustainability Gate made clear that ESG is moving from checkbox to competitive edge. Through panels like “ESG That Pays Off: Practice Over Principles”, featuring our colleague Andreas Ernst, we explored how focusing on the right sustainability measures and integrating them into business processes, products and value chains can create environmental value while strengthening long‑term resilience and innovation. The 7th Kurtz Ersa Technology Forum underscored how progress happens through collaboration. ASMPT SMT Solutions' CEO, Josef Ernst, highlighted how the synergy between technology and human experience drives intelligent manufacturing. The joint SIPLACE SX2 and ERSA rework system demonstration on an XL BGA application showed this in action, illustrating how shared expertise and co‑development can deliver seamless, reliable solutions for complex electronics manufacturing tasks. At NEPCON Thailand, our intelligent factory showcase brought the conversation to the SMT shop floor. With live demonstrations of our latest placement and printing technologies, we discussed how performance, flexibility and integrated line concepts can help customers in Southeast Asia build more connected and scalable production environments that are ready for the next wave of electronics demand. Across these exhibitions, our teams showcased how ASMPT is enabling advanced semiconductor packaging and intelligent electronics manufacturing, while listening closely to the challenges and opportunities shaping our customers’ next generation of products.
