Codar Nigeria, a technology education company backed by KWE4 AFRICA Venture Studio, has raised $1.5 million in a mix of equity and debt financing to expand its AI and digital skills training business in Africa. The investment will enable Codar to grow its AI programs, strengthen its online learning platform, establish new learning hubs, and increase scholarship opportunities for aspiring technology professionals. The funding reflects growing investor confidence in companies building the talent needed to support Africa's expanding digital economy. Founded by David Sokefun, Williams Olusegun, John Oduoye, and Emmanuel Asaolu, Codar provides practical training in AI, software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and other in-demand digital disciplines. The company has built its model around project-based learning, industry partnerships, mentorship, and career pathways that prepare learners for technology roles in Africa and global markets. Codar currently serves more than 5,000 active learners and says it has reached over 70,000 students through its programs and initiatives. The new capital will help the company scale its reach while making technology education more accessible through both physical learning hubs and digital delivery. The investment also highlights the growing role of venture studios such as KWE4 Africa Venture Studio in backing businesses that address structural gaps in Africa's innovation ecosystem. While venture funding has largely focused on fintech and enterprise software, investors are increasingly recognizing digital talent development as a critical enabler of long-term technology growth. The Acumen Resilient Agriculture Fund (ARAF) has secured $90 million in new committed capital to expand climate-resilient agribusiness investments across Africa. Backed by returning investors Green Climate Fund (GCF), FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, and Proparco, alongside new investors Swedfund International, BIO, FASA, and a family office, the fund will finance businesses helping smallholder farmers adapt to climate change while expanding into North Africa. Managed by Acumen Capital Partners, ARAF invests in high-growth agribusinesses developing climate-smart solutions across agricultural inputs, financial services, market access, and farmer support. The new capital will enable the fund to scale these investments beyond East and West Africa into North Africa, where climate pressures are increasingly affecting agricultural production. Agriculture remains one of Africa's largest industries, yet climate change continues to increase risks across food production and agricultural supply chains. Funds such as ARAF are directing capital toward businesses building practical solutions for farmers, creating a larger pipeline of investable companies in one of the continent's most important sectors. Creation Capital has launched a $183 million private credit fund to increase institutional investment in South Africa's underserved SME and mid-market business sector. The Creation Yield Fund combines privately originated loans with a listed note on the Cape Town Stock Exchange (CTSE), giving institutional investors access to private credit through a regulated, exchange-listed instrument. The fund launches with an initial $18.3 million issuance anchored by a major South African pension fund. The fund targets pension funds, insurers, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals with a minimum investment of $3.1 million. The listed structure is designed to attract long-term institutional capital while expanding financing options for businesses that often struggle to secure traditional bank lending. According to Creation Capital CEO Kasief Isaacs, the structure addresses one of private credit's biggest barriers: access. By listing the investment vehicle on the CTSE, investors can gain exposure to private credit while benefiting from the governance, transparency, and regulatory framework of a listed security. Raxio Data Centres has secured more than $380 million in committed capital after existing shareholders Meridiam and Roha increased their investment to support the company's next phase of expansion across Africa. The additional funding comes as demand for digital infrastructure accelerates. Raxio recorded a sixfold increase in contracted power capacity during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year, reflecting growing demand from cloud providers, enterprises and AI-driven workloads. The latest equity investment increases Raxio's committed capital from $350 million to more than $380 million. It builds on the $100 million financing package the company secured from the IFC - International Finance Corporation in 2025, alongside debt financing from Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund (EAAIF). Raxio has built one of Africa's largest independent data center platforms, with Tier III-certified, carrier-neutral facilities operating in Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire and Angola, while a new facility is under development in Tanzania. The company says customer demand is shifting rapidly towards larger deployments, with a growing pipeline of projects requiring 10 megawatts or more. It is also increasing rack densities to support high-performance computing and artificial intelligence applications as enterprises continue migrating to cloud-based infrastructure. Impact Fund Denmark is strengthening access to business finance in Côte d'Ivoire with a €25 million subordinated debt investment in NSIA Bank Côte d'Ivoire, the country's second-largest bank and a subsidiary of the NSIA Group. The investment will strengthen the bank's capital base, allowing it to expand lending to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) over the coming years. NSIA Bank manages €4.7 billion in assets and operates 85 branches across Côte d'Ivoire. By reinforcing the bank's capital position, Impact Fund Denmark is enabling it to increase financing for underserved businesses while supporting the continued expansion of one of West Africa's leading banking groups. The transaction also reflects a broader investment strategy. Rather than lending directly to businesses, development finance investors are increasingly partnering with established African financial institutions that can deploy capital at scale.
