Some love stories begin with a DM, happen at award show red carpets, cross oceans, and somehow, against all odds of geography, busy schedules, and fame, still manage to remain strong as ever.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas are that couple.
One is a Bollywood and Hollywood powerhouse who grew up on two continents. The other is a pop star and actor who barely slowed down long enough to fall in love with PC.
The two of them have wildly busy careers, a decade's age gap, and thousands of miles between them on any given week. And still keep their relationship blooming, married since December 2018, parents to a daughter, and still a team.
What keeps a relationship like this alive is a simple, practical, non-negotiable rule.

When two of the world's busiest entertainers get married, romance alone doesn’t hold things together. Priyanka Chopra has revealed the one rule she and husband Nick Jonas have in their marriage: no matter where they are in the world or what they are doing, every three weeks, the couple make it a point to meet each other.

The rule sounds simple enough, but executing it takes real commitment. According to Priyanka, speaking to Elle UK for the magazine's March 2021 issue, "We see each other every three weeks. Wherever we are in the world, we fly to each other at least once a month for a couple of days. It was our rule when we first got married.Otherwise, we'd never see each other."
For most couples, "making time" means clearing a weekend. For these two, it means booking international flights. The effort, they've made clear, is entirely non-negotiable.

Running a long-distance marriage at this level isn’t jusyt about the couple alone; it impacts and makes everyone around them a part of it.
Priyanka told Elle UK with a laugh, "Our teams also had to get married! They have to talk to each other like, 'I am scheduling her here. No, we can't do it… This is when we're free… We have to move this.' It's like a big marriage. It's not just us but our families and teams, too."

Before the rule, there was a love story that moved at a pace that even surprised Priyanka herself. Nick and Priyanka confirmed their romance after a year of what Nick described as "flirty DMs," and shocked the world with an engagement, and after 5 months, followed by not one, but two wedding ceremonies in India on December 1, 2018. "I didn't expect the proposal at that point... It was two months!" Chopra told Elle UK. "I thought it would happen, but it was still a complete shock."

“I was taking a hiatus from guys at that point. I didn’t want anyone romantically,” Priyanka told *Elle UK*. “There’s always been something about Nick, which is why we always ended up staying in touch, no matter where we were.” She wasn’t looking for love. She found it anyway and chose to trust it. “I just rode the wave because I trusted him,” she said simply. In that moment, what began as friendship slowly turned into something deeper and more real. Sometimes, the right person enters your life when you are least prepared for it.
