Indian Navy's INS Trikand Thwarts Piracy Attempt On India-Bound Vessel In Gulf Of Aden
The Indian Navy foiled a piracy attempt in the Gulf of Aden after warship INS Trikand responded swiftly to a distress call from merchant vessel MV Golden Arsenal on Wednesday night. According to sources, suspected pirates attempted to board the ship, which was carrying critical cargo bound for India and had one Indian crew member on board. The crew activated anti-piracy protocols by locking themselves inside a safe room and sending an emergency alert. As INS Trikand approached, the suspected pirates fled without taking control of the vessel. Indian Navy Marine Commandos (MARCOS) later boarded the ship and carried out a sanitisation operation, declaring it safe. No injuries or damage were reported. The operation highlights the Navy's continued anti-piracy presence in the Gulf of Aden.
