Russia has claimed major success in the ongoing war against Ukraine. Moscow claimed its forces captured five key settlements in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions over the past week and carried out seven retaliatory strikes against the Ukrainian military. The Russian defence ministry said the strikes targeted energy facilities, transport hubs, ports, airfields, ammunition depots, and drone launch sites used by Ukrainian forces. Meanwhile, Ukraine reported strikes on Russian energy infrastructure in the Republic of Dagestan and the Samara region, as well as attacks on military and logistical facilities in the occupied regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk. Ukrainian officials also claimed that several oil refineries and petrochemical plants caught fire following the attacks.
