Cumbria Combined Authority is a brand‑new organisation created in February 2026 to bring more powers, funding and decision‑making closer to home. It will work together with Cumberland Council and Westmorland & Furness Council to focus on the big, county‑wide things that really matter, like better transport, stronger job and skills opportunities, supporting businesses to grow, and investing in our towns and communities.

Things are moving forward at Cumberland Sports Village ⚽ Ground investigation works are continuing on site as another important step is taken towards creating a new sporting hub for Cumberland. As pre-season continues for Workington AFC, they take on Carlisle United at the Fibrus Stadium this Friday (17 July) in their first Workington fixture away from Borough Park ahead of the new season. We look forward to sharing further updates as work progresses.

We're also pleased that our partners Right2Work C.I.C and Cumbria Health will be there, so it's a great opportunity to connect with a range of organisations offering support for employers, employees and job seekers.
