European government space spending increased by 12% to €13.5 billion in 2025, even while global government spending fell. From a recruitment perspective, that's great news. More investment means more hiring, more ambitious programmes and more opportunities for all the talented people across the industry. The part that really puzzles me is Europe's approach to procurement. We still have an open market, while most other countries give far greater preference to their own space companies.
