Around 13,000 people in Cambridge are living with cardiovascular disease, contributing to around 18 deaths each month – roughly one every 42 hours. In 2026, Chariots of Fire is supporting research that responds to this challenge. Funds raised through the event will contribute to British Heart Foundation-funded research taking place in Cambridge at the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute. Our annual Cheltenham charity netball tournament returned on 8 July. Despite the searing heat, this year’s competition was fiercer, faster and more fun than ever. 17 teams from businesses and organisations across the region took to the courts, battling for the championship title while raising an incredible £4,300 for our Cheltenham office charity partners: Linc Charity, Read With Me, Cheltenham Animal Shelter and Cheltenham Hospital Oncology Gardens. Congratulations to HCR Rockets, who retained the trophy for a second consecutive year. Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants secured second place, while Hazlewoods Lightning and Hazlewoods Thunder shared joint third place. The Sharp Shootout Competition was won by Hartpury University and Hartpury College. A huge thank you to everyone who entered a team, made a donation or came along to support the players from the sidelines. Your enthusiasm and generosity helped make the event another outstanding success.
