We’ve launched a new NatWest Accelerator at Tyseley Energy Park in the West Midlands, in partnership with TEP Birmingham and Webster & Horsfall Group. The hub will support founders and growth businesses across all sectors, offering targeted business support and access to capital, expert insight, commercial opportunities and a powerful network of contacts. Why are we launching a new hub on a working industrial estate? TEP Birmingham is home to more than 20 energy and technology organisations focused on clean energy innovation. The working industrial site brings together entrepreneurs, manufacturers, universities, policymakers and infrastructure providers to help turn innovation into commercial growth. Locating the new NatWest Accelerator at TEP Birmingham puts founders at the heart of an established industrial and innovation cluster, with access to specialist infrastructure, commercial expertise and regional networks. The new site is an exciting addition to the support we’re already providing across the West Midlands, alongside our Birmingham Accelerator and Accelerator with WMG, University of Warwick. Together, we’re building a stronger ecosystem for founders who are driving innovation across the region. What does career growth at your own pace mean to you? “NatWest gives me the opportunity to expand my career at the rate I’m comfortable with.” That’s been Charlotte Parkhurst’s experience. As a Performance and Business Management Manager, she’s explored development programmes, taken on new opportunities, and progressed in a way that matches her own pace. Because growth looks different for everyone. For some, it’s about stepping up. For others, it’s about taking the time to build confidence first. What matters is having the space and support to do both. So here’s a quick question. What does career growth at your own pace look like for you? Let us know in the comments.

Infrastructure shapes how we live and work every day - often behind the scenes, but always essential. Hear from our CFO Katie Murray on a recent visit to enfinium’s Kemsley site in Kent - where unrecyclable waste is being transformed into energy that powers homes and businesses, helping support the UK’s transition to a more circular, lower carbon economy. As the UK’s biggest bank for business and the UK’s number one loan arranger and loan provider for infrastructure and project finance, we’re proud to support customers like enfinium and the vital infrastructure they provide - bringing together financing, expertise and connections to help deliver projects that matter for communities, growth and the future of the UK economy. In Dawn’s experience, recognising a team starts with the everyday things. It can be as simple as calling out great work in the moment, acknowledging effort when it happens, or taking the time to share appreciation, whether that’s privately or more visibly with others. There are also tools like the Recognise platform that help highlight contributions across teams. What matters most isn’t the format. It’s the timing, the visibility, and it’s the fact that it feels genuine. That’s what helps people feel valued in the work they do day to day. What makes recognition at work feel genuine to you?
