The challenge with immersive learning is not only access to technology. It is also the time and confidence it takes to find experiences that have impact for students. Our research found that 90% of teachers using XR said it enhanced the quality of their students’ learning, and 96% expressed positive sentiment towards the technology. At the same time, teachers face real barriers. They often have to act as curators, technologists and quality assurers just to identify experiences that are relevant, trustworthy and instructionally sound. This creates a clear opportunity: to make quality easier to recognize, so educators can spend less time searching and more time supporting learning. Alongside our report, From Engagement to Impact, our teacher guide provides educators with a practical checklist, grounded in learning-science, to identify immersive experiences that move from engagement to impact. Immersive learning can take many forms in the classroom, from introducing new concepts to supporting practice, exploration, or assessment. But what matters most is how these experiences connect to learning. Our research shows that the most effective immersive experiences are those that are clearly aligned to purpose. When that alignment is missing, even highly engaging experiences can fall short. But when it is clear, immersive learning becomes a powerful way to deepen understanding, build skills, and support meaningful outcomes. Immersive learning is no longer experimental. Across classrooms, XR is opening new ways for learners to explore places, practice skills and experience concepts that would otherwise be difficult, costly or impossible to access. But enthusiasm alone will not drive sustained use. Our latest research, From Engagement to Impact shows that educators are asking a more complex question: which immersive experiences are worthy of their time, attention and trust? As the market grows, teachers need clearer signals of quality to help them distinguish between experiences that look impressive and those that are genuinely grounded in learning science. For immersive learning to scale, quality needs to be visible. Immersive learning has clear power to capture students’ attention. In our latest research report, 76% of teachers using XR said they were prompted to use it because they were looking for new ways to engage students. But engagement is only the first step. For immersive learning to deliver lasting value, experiences need to move beyond the initial excitement of the technology. They need to connect to clear learning goals, support active participation, and help students build understanding in ways that endure beyond the experience itself. Because when immersive experiences are high quality, learning moves from engagement to impact. Want to learn more? As immersive learning continues to gain traction across classrooms, the question is no longer whether these technologies can support learning, but how educators can identify the experiences most likely to make an impact. Our latest research, From Engagement to Impact, draws on learning science and insights from more than 500 educators to explore what high-quality immersive learning looks like in practice. The findings show that while enthusiasm for XR is high, confidence in quality remains a critical challenge. As adoption grows, educators need clearer, research-grounded signals to help them choose immersive experiences that are not only engaging, but that lead to real learning. These insights point to an important opportunity: to move immersive learning beyond novelty and towards more impactful use in classrooms. As AI continues to reshape the workplace, entry-level roles are evolving right alongside it. Our latest research with Cognizant, The AI Workforce Pulse, found that 94% of HR leaders expect AI to create new entry-level roles, with many shifting from routine task execution to working alongside and overseeing AI-powered systems. At the same time, organizations are facing a growing readiness gap. While demand for AI skills is accelerating, 60% of HR leaders say their learning and development programs cannot keep pace with the speed at which AI is transforming jobs. These findings highlight an important opportunity to help people build the skills they need to succeed in an AI-enabled workforce while ensuring organizations have the talent to adapt and grow.
