  • In a recent interview with The Herald, Emma Noble, Lloyds Banking Group’s Group Ambassador for Scotland and a member of the SFE Board, reflected on the potential she sees across Scotland’s businesses and communities. Emma discussed the importance of giving businesses the confidence and access to capital they need to invest and grow, particularly in areas such as renewable energy, agriculture and infrastructure. She also highlighted Bank of Scotland’s commitment to make more than £2.5 billion of new finance available to businesses across Scotland in 2026. The interview also gave further insight into Emma's experience in the role so far and her thoughts on Scotland’s business community as well as delivering the Address to a Haggis at Mansion House in London.   • 🧠 Thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our Charity Quiz Night, kindly sponsored by Meraki Talent. 💚 Together, we raised around £3,100 for Childline, helping to support the vital work they do for children and young people across the UK. As both Childline and Scottish Financial Enterprise celebrate their 40th anniversaries this year, it was a fantastic opportunity to come together for an important cause. 🏆 It was great to see so many teams from across our membership enjoying an evening of friendly competition, networking and fundraising. Congratulations to Artemis Investment Management, who were crowned the overall quiz winners, with a special mention also going to Burness Paull LLP for winning the Scottish towns anagram round. Alongside the quiz, guests also took part in our raffle and charity auction, featuring a fantastic selection of prizes generously donated by organisations from across Scotland.   • The Scottish National Investment Bank has published its new Investment Strategy and Business Plan for 2026/27, setting out the next phase of its work under Chief Executive David Ritchie. The strategy sharpens The Scottish National Investment Bank’s commercial focus and prioritises, including: 🚀 Supporting established Scottish businesses with demonstrated growth 🏘️ Increasing housing supply across all tenures ⚡ Investing in energy security, grid infrastructure and resilient energy systems It also intends to launch a Scottish Universities Fund, helping high-growth companies emerging from Scotland’s universities to scale and remain anchored here.   • This evening, the Chancellor will formally launch the Financial Services Skills Compact during her annual Mansion House speech, bringing government and industry together to address skills gaps across financial services. More than 30 organisations have committed their support, collectively employing over 250,000 people. Through the compact, firms are committing to invest in the skills of their people, strengthen future talent pipelines and work collaboratively to address skills gaps across the sector. The initiative will also help demonstrate the industry’s progress and shared commitment to building a workforce equipped for the future.   • The Financial Conduct Authority has published its Annual Report and Accounts for 2025/26, outlining progress during the first year of its five-year strategy. The report sets out the FCA’s work across its four priorities: helping consumers, fighting financial crime, supporting growth and becoming a smarter regulator.
