  • Ferry questions? Business account enquiries? Just fancy a catch up? You’ll find our Business team at the Isle of Wight Chamber Business Expo 2026 at Ryde School tomorrow (7 July) – stand 87, to be precise. We’ll be there talking about all things cross-Solent travel, from setting up business accounts to the services we offer for companies travelling to and from the Island. We love attending The Expo as it’s always a fantastic opportunity to connect with the Island’s business community, discover what local organisations are up to and have a few useful conversations along the way. It’s free to attend, so if you’re heading along, do pop by and say hi. 👋 #IWExpo2026 #IWChamber #IslandBusiness #ConnectCollaborateGrow

  • On Wednesday 1 July, we hosted our Meet the B2B Team event at the Fig Tree Hotel in Shanklin. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of local businesses and professionals, all coming together to connect, share ideas and build new relationships. Events like these demonstrate the strength of our local business community and the value of collaboration in helping Island businesses grow and succeed. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the positive atmosphere. Your willingness to network, collaborate and support one another is what makes our business community so special. A special thank you to the team at the The Fig Tree Hotel Shanklin for their warm hospitality and all their hard work in hosting us. We're proud to support opportunities that bring our local business community together, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event! #BusinessNetworking #IsleOfWight #Community #Collaboration #SupportLocal #B2B #BusinessCommunity

I was proud to represent Wightlink | Isle of Wight Ferries at our Community Sponsorship event held at Quay Arts in Newport on the Island on Tuesday evening alongside our CEO Katy Taylor Wightlink's Community Sponsorship Programme helps organisations access training, competitions, performances, events and opportunities beyond the Solent. Working in finance, it's easy to focus on numbers and business performance but events like this are a powerful reminder that behind every sponsorship agreement and every discounted crossing are real people, real stories and real opportunities which break down barriers to participation and help individuals reach their own potential as well as fostering communities and friendships. It was inspiring to meet such a diverse group of individuals, volunteers and organisations from across the Isle of Wight – from sporting clubs and talented young athletes, to arts organisations, musicians, charities, community groups and environmental projects. Their passion, commitment and impact on Island life was genuinely humbling. Particular highlights for me were: - Getting to meet beautiful Tarka the therapy dog 🐶 😊 from Ability Dogs 4 Young People IOW who transform disabled and young people's lives - being introduced to Kate Garnham and Luke Maundrell from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and learning more about how committed that they are to providing havens for wildlife and regenerating sea grass - Meeting Ryde Sea Cadets and hearing about the pathways that they create for young people on the Island for careers in the Navy - Talking to representatives from Platform One music college and how proud they were to see graduates from their college, Wet Leg, appear at the Isle of Wight festival last week - Meeting Jo Macauley from the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust and learning about the fabulous photos and portraits of famous visitors to the Island that they preserve and showcase - Hearing from Russell Brodie about the awesome work that Wight Eagles FC are doing to create opportunities for young girls and women on the Isle of Wight to play football with the wider benefits for their families and communities this brings - having the opportunity to learn about Sporting Opportunities an Inclusive sports organisation providing opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities to whom Wightlink have provided travel to allow participation in the Special Olympics which was truly inspiring. I left the event feeling incredibly proud of the role Wightlink plays in helping these organisations and individuals thrive. Thank you to everyone who attended and shared their stories, and to the brilliant Sam Woodman and fellow Wightlink colleagues Kelly Hibbs (Chartered Marketer, MCIM) Grace Swainston Kristian Balkin Fern Healey Louise Lea David Williams Phillip Delaney who made this event and who make this programme possible. #Wightlink #CommunitySponsorship #IsleOfWight #SupportingCommunities #QuayArts

  • A 48-hour reset on the Island 🌊 Sea swims, slow mornings, fresh air, and time well spent. From breath taking coastlines and rolling countryside to independent coffee spots and relaxing sauna sessions, the Isle of Wight offers everything you need to truly switch off and recharge. By working closely with some of the Island’s brilliant local businesses, we’ve brought together the ultimate 48-hour itinerary designed to showcase just how much the Isle of Wight has to offer. A huge thank you to GlobalShots for bringing this vision to life, alongside island-based clothing brand Rapanui Clothing , The Piano Café in Freshwater, Tapnell Farm, Slomo Sauna, and National Trust.

  • BTS shoot on the Island 🎬 We recently filmed on the west side of the Isle of Wight to bring a brand new concept to life. A huge thank you to Wightlink | Isle of Wight Ferries for their advocacy and support of our Defence Employer Engagement event at Newtown Range and Jersey Camp on the Isle of Wight yesterday. By providing assisted travel for our Service personnel, both Regular and Reserve from 6 Solent Region units, Wightlink helped in bringing together employers with members of the Armed Forces community to share experiences, build connections and strengthen understanding of Defence's contribution to society and the workplace. Their support demonstrates a real commitment to the Armed Forces community and helps ensure that valuable conversations between Defence and local employers can take place. Thank you for helping us make this event possible. #SupportingDefence #ArmedForcesCommunity #Reservists #EmployerEngagement #IsleOfWight #ArmedForcesCovenant

  • A huge thank you to Captain Booker and his crew working onboard Victoria of Wight yesterday evening. We were called to assist in the search for a suspected windsurfer in difficulty in the Solent. When there is an emergency at sea, the Master of a vessel has a duty to respond where it is safe and practical to do so. Protecting life at sea is one of the most important responsibilities held by our crews, and there have been times when their assistance has helped prevent more serious outcomes. On this occasion, Victoria of Wight left her usual course to support the search, with lookouts posted, the rescue boat prepared for launch and close coordination with the Coastguard, lifeboat, helicopter and other vessels involved. We know delays can be frustrating, especially when you have places to be, and we’re sorry to everyone affected. Thank you for your patience, understanding and kindness while our crew carried out this important duty. ⛴️
