Today, I’m celebrating not just a work anniversary, but an incredible journey of growth, learning, and transformation. Looking back, these past two years have brought more challenges, unexpected hurdles, and higher stakes than I initially imagined. They have also provided some of the most valuable experiences of my career. Every success, every lesson learned, and even every setback has contributed to my personal and professional growth. This opportunity has broadened my perspective on Abbott, allowing me to appreciate both the unique strengths of each division and the shared purpose, vision, and mission that connect us all. As I reflect on this milestone, I am especially grateful to those who trusted me, believed in me, and advocated for this opportunity. John Byrne liked thisJohn Byrne liked thisToday is a special day … 30 5/6 years 370 months 1608 6/7 weeks 11262 days 4 President Awards 2 Innovation Awards 1 Drug Substance developed to the market 1 Drug Product developed for the first mutual recognition approval from EMA for the company 13 M&A / Divestiture Projects 13 bosses and countless small and big wins … All comes to an end today. I am feeling honored that I could serve my company for such a long time. It has been a great balance between giving and receiving – it made it worth and rewarding, where of I need to admit, there is also a big price tag in back sets for the family – something I should have done differently for sure. And I also acknowledge the privilege, esp. in my early days, to learn from the mistakes, which I made. Over all those years I had great leaders, which helped me to develop into a leader myself – thank you Francesc Junyent, Paul Robben, Philippe Sail, Benoît Tuerlinckx, Scott Roe, Carrie Mouritsen, Steve Lichter, Mike Warmuth, Jim Young, Tricia Geran, Anton Herbig, Dan Hallet, Brian Jordan, Patricia Griffiths and others. I was able to meet tons of great people – many of them even turned into friends! I worked in three countries and traveled the world to improve and grow the business and myself, and I was very blessed with all the people working with and for me – a lot of talents, who allowed me to help them to develop as individual and professional. This is all not for granted, therefore this day is to celebrate the good stuff, the achievements and the personal relations, which I could build over three decades – no grief, no pain, no bad feelings. New challenges are ahead, exciting opportunities are in front of me – stay tuned, I am not done, yet – I’ll be back! Thank you for all the support over the years and we will meet again! I am grateful for the incredible opportunities, lifelong friendships, and experiences that have shaped my career and life. My journey across Puerto Rico and Lake County, IL allowed me to work with talented, dedicated teams across multiple divisions and Corporate Engineering. Together, we achieved milestones I am deeply proud of, including major capacity expansions during COVID and leading the largest facilities and infrastructure expansion in Abbott’s history over the last six years. One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been helping to develop many leaders, from the early stages of their careers to senior positions. Witnessing their growth and success has been truly meaningful. Thank you to the many colleagues, mentors, and team members who made this journey so special. The relationships we built are what I will value most. As I step into my next chapter, I do so with deep gratitude and pride in all we accomplished together. #Abbottproud

Jessie brings a strong track record of leading complex programmes in digital health and medical device manufacturing. She spent over six years at Abbott, where she played a central role in delivering the first FreeStyle Libre 3 sensor manufacturing line, before moving into digital health as a Programme Manager. She joins us from Closed Loop Medicine, where she led the delivery of digital health programmes from concept to launch. Her combination of structured project management discipline, technical grounding, and experience scaling health technology programmes makes her exceptionally well placed to lead delivery as Reset Health continues to grow. Welcome, Jessie! We're thrilled to have you on board.

Excited to be part of the upcoming RAPS workshop, where I’ll be presenting a case study on Safety Assurance Cases for infusion pumps, a topic that has shaped so much of my work and thinking over the years. Having spent a significant part of my career working closely with infusion pump platforms, I’ve seen firsthand how engineering decisions, risk‑management discipline, and real‑world clinical context come together to protect patients. This case study is my way of sharing those learnings and reinforcing a message our industry can’t afford to forget: engineering for safety isn’t a checkbox. It is a mindset, a culture, and a responsibility! What makes this workshop even more special is the depth of experience in the room. The speakers and participants bring perspectives from across the MedTech ecosystem, and the insights shared will be incredibly valuable for anyone navigating or learning about safety‑critical engineering. Looking forward to meaningful conversations, shared learning, and continuing to elevate safety practices across our industry!
