The BBC ask………Will AI mean the end of call centres? Gartner predict by 2029 AI will autonomously resolve 80% of common customer service issues - would you agree? Today I’m exploring an agentless dialler workshop to explore proactive outbound using AI? If you listen to Gartner, 85% of customer service leaders are exploring, piloting or deploying AI chatbots, but interestingly only 20% of projects are fully meeting expectations!? This isn’t surprising sometimes when we go full steam without really testing and capturing full sets of requirements and thinking about the customer over efficiencies and deflection! But AI voices are getting better, agentic workflows are becomes smarter and easier to deploy! So are the AI’s getting smarter or are we getting better at implementing them, driven by customer feedback and the necessity to reduce operational costs? Sales force have said openly that they have fcut customer service costs by $100m, and at the same time slashed jobs, with if you believe it increased satisfaction rates compared to humans!? I’m sceptical but it raises an interesting question around the 2029 timeline - is it realistic and or could it be even sooner!? Check out the article below from the BBC 👇
