Chair and Director with 25+ years’ experience building, scaling, and exiting technology companies, as founder, CEO, Chair, Lead Director, investor, buyer, and seller across AI, fintech, climatetech, and regulated markets.

For the past decade, I have led the practical application of AI in business: I co-founded and led Previse, an AI-native B2B payments company, where AI is the product — a decision engine applying deep learning and reinforcement learning to assess business data, deployed at scale with some of the world's largest buyers, suppliers, and financial institutions, including Mastercard, Citi, and HSBC, processing over $300 billion in invoices. Nearly ten years of building AI in production, not as a feature bolted on, but as the thing itself.

Before Previse, I spent a decade at Goldman Sachs, ultimately as Global Co-Head of Fintech and Strategic Investments, managing a $1bn portfolio of 55 companies and sitting on the boards of companies including IHS Markit (from founding through its NYSE IPO) and Tradeweb. I was actively involved in Goldman's engagement with post-crisis reform in the US and EU, working with regulators, policymakers and market participants through a period of rapid structural change in markets they were only beginning to understand. I have seen this movie before.

I now focus on Chair and NED roles at growth-stage companies where AI, fintech, climate or market infrastructure are at the centre of the business, and where board-level experience navigating technology, capital markets, distribution and international growth genuinely moves the needle.

I also teach fintech strategy at London Business School, and my book How Fintech Founders Win (Bloomsbury, November 2026) draws on eight case studies of founders who cracked distribution in one of the most competitive sectors in the world.

Legally trained (LLB, LLM, qualified solicitor, UK).

Outside work, I am an endurance athlete and former Australian national team modern pentathlete, and a two-time winner of an ultra-quadrathlon in the Scottish Highlands. Most importantly, I'm happiest as a husband and dad.

Based in London and Brisbane.
