Every marketer knows the feeling. You finish building an email, realize an image is off, and suddenly you're four tabs deep trying to fix one asset. By the time you're done, you've lost your place and your momentum. In Active Intelligence 2.8, you hover over any image and three options appear right there in the editor. Describe what you want and AI generates a new version on the spot. Swap it from your Content Manager, a stock library, or directly from a URL. Update the alt text without clicking away. Every change happens inside the campaign, exactly where you already are. No context switching. No re-uploading. No hoping it drops back into the right place. 👉 Try it yourself: Select any image in your next campaign and describe the change you want to make.

Timing in marketing isn't luck. It's infrastructure. Donald G. Purdy, M.A. at University at Albany built automated outreach through ActiveCampaign that reached prospective students at exactly the right moment. How can he be sure? More than one of them said that message is what pushed them to enroll. Active Intelligence helps you get the right message, to the right person, when it actually matters.

How much do you actually know about your most valuable customers? The segments worth the most to your business aren't always the ones you're paying the most attention to. They're sometimes the ones sitting quietly in your CRM, responding to the wrong content, getting lumped in with everyone else because nothing in your current setup flagged them as different. Active Intelligence analyzes months of behavioral data across your entire contact database and surfaces what you've been missing, not as a report to dig through, but as a clear next action you can take in the next 20 minutes. Active Intelligence isn't built to generate more output. It's built to tell you where the value already is and exactly what to do with it. See what this could look like for you 👇

If you've spent a lot of time creating content, you already have something most people ignore: a record of how you actually think about a topic, in language you've already worked hard to get right. That's a great use case for RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) — a way of connecting AI to a knowledge base you control, so it checks your own material before generating a response instead of guessing from the open internet. RAG isn't a replacement for using AI like you normally do. It's a grounding layer on top: the model pulls from your own published content (or internal docs, if that's more useful for your purposes) and builds its response from wording you've already spent time honing. For me, that means when an opportunity comes up — say, a chance to contribute to a report or article — I'm not reinventing the wheel or re-explaining a concept I've already nailed down somewhere. I can just reuse the thinking I've already invested in. I'm walking through my actual n8n/Pinecone workflow, step by step, no coding background required, in a free ActiveCampaign AI Lab webinar on July 29th with Sean Blanda and Alexa Drake. Join us if you want to put this into practice yourself! 🔗 Registration + a deeper write-up on how it all works, both in the comments

We ran a 5-week Active Intelligence Challenge, inviting customers to complete one hands-on task per week and show us what they built. Kathy Latiolais DeGlandon, PCM, Marketing Manager at Advanced Utility Systems, was one of our standout participants. Most marketers do their analysis on a schedule. Monthly reviews, quarterly reports, a set time to dig into what's working. Kathy uses Active Intelligence to get insights delivered to her inbox before she even has to ask, so by the time her monthly review comes around, she's already acted on what matters. That's the difference between reporting on what happened and staying ahead of it. Way to go, Kathy! 🥳 🙌

The welcome series you've been putting off just got a lot easier to start. One prompt tells Active Intelligence 2.8 what you need: two emails, the right timing, an SMS follow-up. It builds the full automation from there, trigger emails, wait steps, SMS, all formatted to match your original email's style. No missing images, no copy-pasting, no rebuilding from scratch. Just the whole journey, ready to go. See it in action 👇

A new report from Supermetrics surveyed 435 marketers globally and found something worth considering: 41% of marketers feel confident analyzing their data. Only 33% can actually activate it. That gap, eight percentage points, is where most marketing programs quietly stall. The insights exist. The data exists. But turning it into a personalized, automated action in real time requires a different infrastructure than building a report does. Reporting works with historical aggregates. Activation works with individual signals, right now, while the customer is still in the moment. It's also why most AI in marketing ends up being used for content creation and copywriting, the path of least resistance, rather than for the thing that actually changes outcomes: deciding what to do next, for which customer, on which channel, and doing it automatically. That's the difference between a platform that helps you understand your marketing and one that actually runs it. Clean, connected data is the foundation. But the system on top of it has to be built to act, not just report. It's a big part of why we believe AI shouldn't just be a layer on top of your data. It should be a system that reads your actual customer signals and acts on them, so insights don't just sit in a dashboard waiting for someone to do something with them.

Before joining ActiveCampaign, our Chief Product and Technology Officer Chai Atreya spent three years at Amazon helping build the first iterations of Alexa. In a new Business Insider feature, he shares what those early days taught him about product thinking, and the single comment from Jeff Bezos that changed how he approaches every product decision. The lesson isn't what you'd expect. Amazon's "frugality" principle had nothing to do with money. It was about being frugal with time, bandwidth, and complexity, and that constraint is what forced the kind of clarity and invention that made Alexa what it became. It's the same mindset Chai brings to how we build at ActiveCampaign today. Full story in the comments. 👇
