The Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act was recently unveiled in the House with support from over 400 ag groups. Washington Rep. Dan Newhouse, a longtime champion of ag labor reform, details how the situation has changed since Congress considered the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, and how the closed border could generate broad congressional support for the new bill. Plus, National Sorghum Producers Chairwoman Amy France joins the show to discuss the first shipment of sorghum for the Food for Peace international food aid program now administered by the Agriculture Department. American Soybean Association President Scott Metzger discusses the administration's recent suspension of countervailing duties on imported phosphate fertilizer and how farmers can benefit from the USDA's new Regenerative Feedstock Rule. A new AI-driven conservation tool is on the way — and it could seriously streamline how farmers and service providers plan conservation practices. In this exclusive for Agri-Pulse, R. John Dawes showed how analyses that once took weeks can now run through a simple chat prompt using current satellite imagery. Conservation Concierge, developed by The Commons, uses AI, mapping tech and farm-level data. Funded by the Campbell Foundation, Alex Echols says the tool is designed to ease farmer enrollment in federal programs and help planners better evaluate economic and environmental outcomes. Roy Hoagland calls it a “holistic” way to break out of traditional silos. And Bruce Knight says automating the “busy work” could help equalize access to conservation programs.
