Missile defense is only as effective as the environments used to design, test, and validate it. As multi-domain threats and defense systems at scale become more sophisticated, modeling and simulation is even more critical to represent the complexity of modern operational environments that can’t be fully exercised or trained against in the real world. In his new article, Peter Grossman explores how emerging approaches like Threat as a Service (TaaS), multi-fidelity threat modeling, and signal-space time-domain modeling are shaping the future of integrated air and missile defense. Because the future of missile defense depends on more than the systems we field. It depends on how accurately we model the world they'll operate in. The future of Army aviation depends on more than advanced aircraft. It depends on the people who will design, test, sustain, and fly them. Last week, Astrion was proud to sponsor the Army Aviation Association of America Tennessee Valley Chapter annual golf tournament. Our team joined industry partners and Army aviation leaders for a day that supports something even more important than the competition on the course. Every dollar raised helps fund the AAAA Scholarship Program, investing in the next generation of aviation professionals and mission leaders. As a trusted partner supporting Army aviation modernization and mission readiness, we know today's students will become tomorrow's innovators, engineers, and warfighters. Investing in their future is another way we help strengthen the mission. Thank you to the Tennessee Valley Chapter for bringing together a community committed to advancing Army aviation.

Building autonomous vessels is only step 1... The real challenge is transitioning those commercial vessels from research and development or production into trusted, missionized, networked operational capability across a mixed USV fleet. As the U.S. Navy expands its fleet of unmanned surface vessels (USVs), success depends on more than building the vessels. It requires the ability to: • Integrate complex mission systems from payloads and communications to command and control and autonomy • Test and validate performance in real-world conditions • Train operators and support fleet operations • Sustain and modernize capability over time • Scale proven solutions across the fleet For more than a decade, Astrion has helped lead that transition on the Navy's Medium Displacement Unmanned Surface Vessel (MDUSV) program, supporting the integration, testing, operation, sustainment, and modernization of Sea Hunter and Seahawk as they evolved from research platforms to operational fleet assets. Our latest case study explores the lessons learned from supporting that transition—and why disciplined technology transition and operational execution are just as critical as innovation. Critical infrastructure sits at the center of modern national security. The systems that power the nation — energy, communications, transportation, water — are at risk. Astrion helps government and national security organizations defend essential infrastructure against converging physical, cyber, and electromagnetic threats.

The future of national security is built long before the mission begins. It starts in classrooms, research labs, and the communities developing the next generation of engineers and scientists. That’s why our Chairman and CEO Tom Vice was proud to present a $75,000 grant to The University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Science, supporting the college’s new anechoic chamber initiative — a facility where students will test the antennas, sensors, and RF systems that underpin modern defense and aerospace capabilities. Thank you to Dr. Rainer Steinwandt, Dean of the College of Science, for a partnership that keeps growing. This investment strengthens hands-on research and testing capabilities that prepare students for the complex defense and aerospace challenges ahead. As a Huntsville-headquartered company, we believe supporting our community means investing in people, partnerships, and capabilities close to home. Building mission advantage starts by building opportunity.

Astrion is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of ITEA's 2026 All/Multi-Domain Operations Forum July 14-16 in Huntsville. As systems become more connected and operational environments more complex, the ability to test, evaluate, and validate capability across domains has never been more important. Astrion supports mission success through: • Systems Engineering & Integration • Digital Engineering & Digital Twins • Modeling, Simulation & Analysis • Test & Evaluation • Cyber Test & Evaluation • Operational Test & Mission Assurance We're looking forward to connecting with the test and evaluation community next week to discuss the future of all-domain testing, mission readiness, and operational resilience.

The future of space exploration won't be defined by rockets alone. It will be defined by the systems that enable humans to live, work, and thrive beyond Earth. A recent NASA study demonstrated a major milestone: the successful growth and safe consumption of chile peppers aboard the International Space Station. Astrion supported the effort through NASA's LASSO II contract, helping validate both crop development and food safety requirements for space-grown produce. The result? -Safe food production in microgravity -Greater understanding of plant-microbe interactions in space -Progress toward sustainable lunar and deep-space missions As space agencies prepare for longer-duration missions, developing resilient, closed-loop systems will be critical to sustaining human presence beyond low Earth orbit. 250 years ago, a nation was founded on the belief that freedom was worth defending. Every generation since has carried that mission forward across new frontiers. Subsurface. Land. Sea. Air. Space. Cyber. The battlefield has changed. The technology has evolved. The mission remains. The first 250 years secured a nation. The next 250 will require defending this world and building the next.
