Today was an emotional day at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, as Sgt. Christian Ivanov of the ATLANTIC CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT #SWAT team was discharged following the critical injuries he sustained in the line of duty on June 2. His ceremonial clap out brought together family, fellow officers, law enforcement agencies from across New Jersey and AtlantiCare team members including those who supported his care and recovery. We are proud of the extraordinary coordination, skill and compassion demonstrated by our #trauma and hospital teams and remain #grateful to the ACPD and all #firstresponders who protect and serve our communities every day. We wish Sgt. Ivanov continued strength and healing in the weeks ahead.
It has been an emotional and meaningful few weeks for our region, especially for the ATLANTIC CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT and our AtlantiCare team. One June 2, Sgt. Christian Ivanov of the #ACPD was critically wounded in the line of duty and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Atlantic City Campus where he received lifesaving treatment. At last night’s AC City Council meeting, elected officials and members of the community honored the AtlantiCare trauma and hospital teams whose actions helped save Sgt. Ivanov’s life. Today, Sgt. Ivanov was discharged from ARMC in Atlantic City with a ceremonial and celebratory clap out, surrounded by his family, colleagues from #ACPD and Atlantic City Fire Department, law enforcement agencies from across the State of New Jersey and our AtlantiCare team members. I am deeply proud of every AtlantiCare team member who contributed to Sgt. Ivanov’s care. Their skill, compassion and dedication reflect the standard of excellence we strive for across our organization and the responsibility we share to serve our communities. We wish Sgt. Ivanov continued strength in his recovery and remain grateful to the #officers and #firstresponders who serve and protect our region every day.
