Congratulations to The ePlane Company, a Bharat Innovates 2026 startup, on unveiling its first full-scale electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, marking a significant milestone in India’s emerging advanced air mobility ecosystem. Incubated at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, ePlane company reflects how innovation emerging from India’s higher education ecosystem is driving the development of globally competitive deep-tech solutions. This achievement underscores the country’s growing capabilities in electric aviation and next-generation mobility, with the potential to transform urban transportation and strengthen India’s position in the global aerospace innovation landscape. We congratulate the team on this milestone and wish them continued success as they progress towards commercial operations in 2028. #BharatInnovates #InnovationFromCampus #DeepTech #EVTOL #FutureMobility
There is a definitive moment when an aerospace program shifts from subscale into a 2.2-ton full scale reality. For us, that moment is now. This aircraft is the culmination of half a decade of uncompromising engineering. We didn't just jump straight into a full-scale build. We spent the last five years proving our architecture in the sky. For those who have followed our journey, you saw us push our sub-scale technology demonstrators to the limit flying the ATVA in 2021 and the heavy-lift e50 in 2023. Across those platforms, we logged over 10,000 kilometres of real-world flight testing. We proved the aerodynamics, we moulded our composites from scratch, and we locked in our proprietary flight transition algorithms in the real world. What you are looking at today is the result of that heavy lifting: a 2,200 kg vehicle built around an advanced carbon fiber composite airframe. It runs on an 800V high-voltage EV powertrain engineered to prevent thermal overheating and enable rapid turnaround charging. To process the immense data required for autonomous flight, we integrated the NVIDIA IGX Thor platform for hardware-isolated sensor fusion, alongside HENSOLDT's Next-Gen avionics suite for micro-accuracy navigation and secure telemetry. Right now, the e200X PT-01 is standing inside our 60,000 sq ft integrated manufacturing and testing facility at the IIT Madras Discovery Campus. It will now enter its full-scale structured ground testing phase in our dedicated GTV Hangar, which is the final threshold before we take it to the flight line for full flight validation. We proved the architecture. Now we validate & scale it. e200X-PT01 is here. 🚀 Satya Chakravarthy | Jayakrishnan Ramaswamy | Vishesh Rajaram | Eash Sundaram | Aditya Ghosh #TheePlaneCompany #e200XisHere #PT01 #eVTOL #AdvancedAirMobility #AerospaceEngineering #FutureOfFlight #AircraftReveal #DeepTechIndia
