On June 12, Children's Health hosted its second annual pediatric health equity summit: "Addressing Barriers, Advancing Solutions to Advance Pediatric Health Equity." The full-day summit brought together health care professionals, researchers and community-based organizations from across Dallas-Fort Worth to discuss strategies for mitigating health inequities affecting children and families. Attendees joined thought-provoking presentations and an expert panel discussion focused on examining current practices, highlighting challenges and identifying effective approaches to addressing social determinants of health in clinical settings. Thank you to our speakers, panelists, partners and attendees for contributing to these critical conversations and helping advance healthier outcomes for all children.

After being diagnosed with two rare conditions, Weston's future was uncertain. Through early diagnosis and the expertise of our Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery team, Weston underwent cranial surgery that gave his growing brain the space it needed to develop. Today, he's a thriving toddler who even giggles when it's time to put on his helmet for therapy. As we recognize Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month, Weston's story is a reminder of what's possible when specialized expertise and compassionate care come together.
