Congratulations to Firefighter-Paramedics Josh Pelkola and Marc Gomez on their promotions to Fire Engineer! Both Josh and Marc were both raised right here in Ventura County, with Josh starting as a fire cadet, spending two years with Gold Coast Ambulance, and returning as a firefighter-paramedic in 2019. Marc joined our team in 2024 as a firefighter-paramedic and in a short time, he’s already made a strong impact through his work with our Honor Guard and his commitment to the team. As fire engineers, Josh and Marc now take on the critical responsibility of operating and positioning our fire apparatus during emergencies, managing complex pump systems that deliver water on scene, and helping ensure crews have the tools and support needed to work safely and effectively under pressure.
