It's UV Safety Month. New data from a CVS Pharmacy Beauty Consultants show that 67% of consumers believe SPF is only necessary on sunny days. The reality is UV rays can pierce through clouds, reflect off snow and ice and contribute to skin damage year-round. "One of the biggest misconceptions is that SPF is only needed when the sun is visible," says Dr. Camille Howard-Verovic, CVS Beauty Dermatologist Advisor. "Daily SPF should be viewed as a foundational part of routine-based care, just like cleansing or moisturizing." CVS was the first national retailer to remove all sunscreens under SPF 15 and has since removed sunscreen below SPF 30 from its Store Brands assortment. When do you reach for SPF? Vote below. Trust between providers and payers is increasing. Aetna, a CVS Health Company's latest Provider Survey found the average trust score is now 6.1 out of 10, up from 5.4 last quarter.   Providers also pointed to where the work continues: reducing time spent on administrative tasks like prior authorizations and improving real-time data sharing so clinical teams have more time for patient care. A $2 million investment from the CVS Health Foundation is helping strengthen community health where it’s needed most. Through its Hometown Fund, the Foundation is supporting 20 nonprofits in the Greater Hartford area and 20 nonprofits across Rhode Island. These grants will expand access to care and support community health by addressing challenges like food insecurity and housing.
