The DIBC | Defense Industrial Base Consortium is looking for innovative manufacturers, technology companies, and other non-traditional businesses to help strengthen America's defense supply chains through its latest Defense Manufacturing Readiness Exercise (DMRE) Request for Solutions (RFS-26-02). Whether you're an established commercial manufacturer or have little or no prior defense contracting experience, you are encouraged you to explore this opportunity. The DMRE is specifically focused on Group 3 UAS/UAVs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems/Vehicles) and munitions wiring harnesses, including their related components, subsystems, assembly, and supplier-network functions. Both manufacturing-side companies—including contract manufacturers, component suppliers, assemblers, testing and inspection providers, and production support organizations—and design-side companies such as OEMs and system integrators are encouraged to submit solutions. We heard. We acted.   Small and non-traditional businesses are essential to building the capabilities our warfighters need. To ensure cybersecurity requirements strengthen—not restrict—the defense industrial base, yesterday the Department of War took action to reduce unnecessary barriers while maintaining critical protections.   The Office of the DoW Chief Information Officer and Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment announced the suspension of CMMC Phase II requirements and launched a comprehensive review to identify scalable, resilient cybersecurity solutions aligned with the Department’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy priorities.   By reducing unnecessary barriers while maintaining critical cybersecurity protections, we are strengthening the industrial base and expanding opportunities for the companies that power the Arsenal of Freedom.
