Our free AI security seminar, Beyond Intelligence, is next week. Hundreds have registered for what's shaping up to be the biggest event we've ever hosted, and there are only a few days left to sign up. Cody Kretsinger, Director of Security Research and keynote presenter, breaks down the full day and explains why your whole team should be in the room on July 22nd. Registration is free, so save your spot at the link in the comments.

Microsoft's record patch Tuesday, with 622 documented security flaws, turned this week's Threat Thursday into a case study on response time. Several of the most serious vulnerabilities were already under active attack before most teams had a chance to act, one vendor told customers to shut down their own servers before a patch even existed, and a Windows flaw landed with no fix at all. Galactic's Security Analyst Aidan Brown has the full breakdown in the comments, including why severity score can sometimes be a trap when it comes to prioritizing remediation. #MSP #Cybersecurity #ThreatIntelligence #InfoSec #CyberRisk

The safety filters built into AI coding agents can be bypassed with techniques that have been documented since the 1980s. Researchers proved it last month and, in doing so, illustrated just how risky the urge to switch off human review can be. Ten of eleven of the most widely used tools in the category failed the test the researchers administered. Galactic’s Security Analyst Aidan Brown breaks down what the GuardFall research reveals about where AI security controls need to live, and what most deployments are still missing. Attackers this week didn't need stolen credentials or a software exploit. A phone call, a cleverly worded ticket, and an approval box that showed the wrong file were enough to get the job done. Galactic's Security Analyst Aidan Brown breaks down six stories where familiarity was the attack surface, from a phone call that walked someone through setting up an attacker's passkey to an AI that ran its own ransomware campaign start to finish. Full Threat Thursday is in the comments. #MSP #Cybersecurity #ThreatIntelligence #InfoSec #CyberRisk

A mathematician at NIST just proved, with actual math, that perfect AI guardrails can never exist. The internet heard "AI can't be made safe" and ran with it. That's the wrong takeaway, and it's exactly the kind of thinking that gets organizations into trouble. Cody Kretsinger digs into the proof, borrows a little Gödel along the way, and makes the case that the whole thing is actually good news for defenders if you read it right. The attack surface many organizations aren't thinking about is trust. This week's Threat Thursday covers seven stories where attackers walked in through something a system was already designed to accept, and Galactic's Senior Security Advisor Aidan Brown breaks down what that means for how organizations need to think about defense going forward. Full Threat Thursday is in the comments. #MSP #Cybersecurity #ThreatIntelligence #InfoSec #CyberRisk

AI has rendered many existing security assumptions obsolete. The reason smaller organizations felt safe for the last two decades had less to do with their security stack and more to do with how much effort it took to attack them in the first place. AI has changed that permanently, and every security program built around the assumption of being too small to target needs a second look. Collin Page, CISSP, traces that shift back decades and explains what it means for any organization that assumes size is still a defense. Fifteen security companies had customer data copied this week because a single vendor forgot to retire an old login credential. The attacker used a key that had been sitting in the lock for years. That story runs alongside three flaws that went from public disclosure to active exploitation in days, a macOS technique that disables security agents without admin access, and a post-quantum encryption deadline that just moved four years closer. Aidan Brown has all the details in this week's Threat Thursday, linked in the comments. #MSP #Cybersecurity #ThreatIntelligence #InfoSec #CyberRisk
