  • Participants of our Adults with Developmental Disabilities Services (ADDS) programs on Oʻahu recently had the opportunity to work with renowned local artist Jasper Wong on the Honolulu Font Project, a program that allows disabled people to express themselves creatively. Participants drew letters, symbols, and illustrations in their own unique styles — which were then transferred to t-shirts so that their voices can be shared with a larger audience. The Goodwill Hawaii ADDS program t-shirts are available for purchase at Blank Canvas in Honolulu and a portion of the proceeds will go back to their program. Mahalo to all who support our participants and make them feel included, valued and seen.

  • “No mess wit da ʻāina” is the slogan for the community service group ʻĀina Keepers, comprising participants and staff from our Hilo Adults with Developmental Disabilities Services program. Over the past 25 years, they have been beautifying Hilo with beach cleanups, graffiti coverups, and other community focused activities. A recent celebration of their 25th anniversary held at our new Hawaii Island Learning Center, honored participants from Goodwill Hawaii, the Police Dept County of Hawaii, and founder Taj Gunter. Special thanks to Senator Lorraine Inouye for providing remarks, KTASuperStores for their generous donation of lunch platters, as well as the Goodwill staff and HPD for making this event possible.

Goodwill Hawaii is so thankful to the Goodwill Network on the mainland for their tremendous support to help the victims of the Kona Low storms rebuild their lives. To date, Goodwill Hawaii has distributed in partnership with the City and County of Honolulu, Aloha United Way, Hawaiian Council and the YMCA of Honolulu, over $100k in free store vouchers on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island, so that families can replace what they have lost in the storms. We couldn’t have done it without the Goodwill Ohana!

  • The work made possible by Source America’s AbilityOne support is more than just a job, it’s a lifelong career. Some of our team members have been working with us for more than 30 years, growing into leadership roles and mentoring the next generation. Goodwill Contract Services Hawaii (GCSH), in partnership with SourceAmerica, delivers federal contract services through the AbilityOne Program. AbilityOne creates long-term employment opportunities for people with disabilities while supporting essential federal operations across the state. With more than 75% of GCSH labor hours performed by individuals with disabilities, this work directly advances Goodwill Hawaii’s mission to help people reach their fullest potential through the power of work. #abilityone #sourceamerica SourceAmerica
