Behind every hospitalized patient is a team working together to provide the best possible care. Meet Brittany Berger, one of our inpatient pharmacists at Huntsville Hospital. Her role includes reviewing medication orders, monitoring medication therapies, answering clinical questions, and partnering with physicians and nurses to help ensure patients receive the safest and most effective treatment possible. If you're looking for a collaborative pharmacy career where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you. • Community generosity plays an important role in strengthening our hospitals and supporting the care our patients and families depend on every day. Thank you to our community leaders, corporate partners and Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees who joined us for the Foundation’s annual State of the Hospital luncheon. Hospital leaders shared how philanthropy strengthens our nonprofit hospitals, advances technology and equipment, and helps meet the health care needs of our growing community.

  • A trusted physician. A respected leader. A familiar face to many across Huntsville Hospital.   Please join us in congratulating Paul Tabereaux, MD, MPH, FACC, on his new role as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer for Huntsville Hospital Health System.   Dr. Tabereaux has been part of the Huntsville Hospital family for nearly two decades. A cardiac electrophysiologist with The Heart Center, he helped establish the cardiac ablation program at Huntsville Hospital and has spent his career advancing complex heart care for patients across our region.   He has served in several important physician leadership roles, including president and chief of the medical staff, chairman and managing partner of The Heart Center, president of the Madison County Medical Society, and governor of the Alabama Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.   Those who know Dr. Tabereaux know he leads with both excellence and humility. Away from the hospital, he is an avid fly fisherman and says the river has taught him patience, presence and adaptability — lessons he carries into leadership.   Dr. Tabereaux succeeds Dr. Robert Chappell as Chief Medical Officer. After serving our hospitals and community with distinction for more than 30 years, Dr. Chappell will now lead HH Health’s Graduate Medical Education program, helping train the next generation of physicians for our community and region. We are grateful for Dr. Chappell’s leadership and proud to welcome Dr. Tabereaux into this important systemwide role.   Congratulations, Dr. Tabereaux!

  • We are thrilled to introduce Amy George as the new President of Huntsville Hospital Foundation! 🎉 Amy is a familiar and beloved face both within our organization and across North Alabama. She joined the Foundation in 2015 and has served brilliantly as Director of Development. Before that, many of you will remember her from her career as a TV news anchor with WHNT News 19. Amy’s deep connection to our hospital’s mission is profoundly personal. In 2005, following the heartbreaking loss of one of her twin daughters shortly after birth, Amy and her husband Chris turned their grief into purpose by founding the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund. Through the annual Miracle Bash and other community events, the fund has raised more than $6 million, ensuring our Neonatal ICU is equipped with the latest lifesaving technology. We know Amy will bring that same fierce passion, leadership and heart to her new role! As we welcome Amy, we also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our outgoing Foundation President, Sarah Savage-Jones. Over the past seven years, Sarah’s visionary leadership and dedication have transformed healthcare philanthropy in our region, leaving a lasting legacy that will impact patients for generations to come. Please join us in thanking Sarah for her incredible service and congratulating Amy as she takes the helm to lead the Foundation into an exciting new era! 🥂👏

  • Big news for brain health in North Alabama! 🧠✨ With cognitive decline affecting more and more families, HH Health is stepping up to bring a game-changing tool to both the Rocket City and the River City. We are proud to announce that Huntsville Hospital Medical Mall Imaging and Decatur Morgan Hospital are now offering amyloid PET scans — the only FDA-approved imaging test that can definitively detect Alzheimer’s disease. Having this advanced technology available locally means: ✅ Faster diagnoses ✅ Quicker access to treatment ✅ No more long-distance travel and months-long waits for area residents who need amyloid PET scans. We are incredibly proud of our imaging and neurology teams for bringing this vital care close to home! ❤️ 👉 Talk to your primary care doctor or neurologist to learn more about amyloid PET imaging.

  • 🎉 Please join us in sending a massive congratulations to Marilyn Boecking, RN, a field case manager with our CompOne program, on her 50th work anniversary! To honor her half-century of outstanding patient care, we presented Marilyn with an engraved floor tile that will be permanently added to our Walk of Fame — a special space reserved for employees who have dedicated 50 or more years of service to our mission. Marilyn began her nursing career in 1976 in the Medical Unit at the old Humana Medical Center (now Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children). Through the years she has also cared for families in the nursery, Labor & Delivery, and the pre-testing center; led childbirth education classes; coordinated the annual Baby Fair at the Von Braun Center; taught the next generation of nurses at Northeast Alabama Community College; helped launch our “RN For You” nurse advice line; and served as a surgical service line case manager. In 2011, Marilyn brought her immense expertise to CompOne, where she expertly coordinates and manages care for those with workplace injuries. Reflecting on her golden anniversary, Marilyn says, “It’s gone really fast. As long as I’m healthy and enjoy what I do, I plan to continue working.” Marilyn, thank you for your unwavering dedication and the profound impact you have made on our hospital system and across North Alabama. You truly embody nursing excellence! ❤️ 🩺
