Our next featured innovators are Hector Medina, MBA, Luiz Elizondo, Ph.D., and Paulina Ojeda, MS, from Monte Caldera Technologies Inc. Together, they are embarking on a mission to disrupt research and development by engineering a Predictive Computational Platform for Biologic Stability and Formulation Optimization. Meet the Founders: Hector Medina, MBA (CEO) brings an extensive background in adaptive operational strategy and corporate leadership to the team, having previously served as a Strategy Director at Cummins Inc. and Director of LATAM at Scientrix. He holds an MBA from Grenoble Ecole de Management and completed executive education at Stanford Graduate School of Business, guiding the company's vision to solve fundamental materials science challenges through advanced physics. Luiz Elizondo, Ph.D. (CSO & Co-Founder) is a theoretical physicist responsible for defining and executing the company's scientific vision. He leads the design of first-principles computational modeling frameworks to accelerate material discovery, helping industries safely design and model complex fluids, soft matter, amorphous gels, and glasses. Our next featured innovators are Bulent Ozpolat, M.D., Ph.D., and Handan Acar, Ph.D., from The University of Oklahoma (OU). Together, they are embarking on a mission to advance a Universal KRAS Therapy for Pancreatic Cancer and Other Solid Tumors. Meet the Founders: Bulent Ozpolat, M.D., Ph.D. is a Professor and Stephenson Endowed Chair at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson School of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Oklahoma. His laboratory is dedicated to translational research aiming to bridge basic laboratory discoveries with pre-clinical studies. His research focuses on tumor biology, cancer genetics, and developing tumor-targeting nano delivery systems to target aggressive, hard-to-cure solid cancers. Handan Acar, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the OU Stephenson School of Biomedical Engineering. Her research combines interdisciplinary approaches to design and synthesize materials with unique capabilities by manipulating molecular-level interactions. A key aspect of her work is harnessing nanomedicine for clinical translational applications, including the use of self-assembling peptides for site-specific delivery platforms and activating self-assembly strategies to disrupt malignant cells. Together, they are embarking on a mission to redefine the future of metabolic health through developing a Next Generation Weight Loss Therapy specifically designed to protect lean muscle and promote longevity. Meet the Founders: Benjamin Miller, Ph.D. is a leader in geroscience with a focus on proteostasis and mitochondrial energetics. He has authored over 115 articles and serves as a Professor and Program Chair in the Aging & Metabolism Research Program at OMRF. Michael Stout, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at OMRF with research spanning across metabolism, reproductive biology, and geroscience. Dr. Stout’s work focuses on shortening the period of poor health late in life and diminishing age-related diseases.
